Dragon shifters are always a must read for me. Who doesn't love dragons, be they evil or good. They are powerful, dangerous and majestic. Their ability breathe fire is pretty awesome too. For Wen, she is one of the few humans unafraid of dragons. This could be because she lives a life filled with managing her father's small estate. She wants a bit of adventure. When she connects mind to mind to a dragon lord, life definitely becomes more exciting. Huroth awakens from a mysterious long sleep only ...more

Dragon Wife was a lovely fantasy romance. I thought it was a great read and I liked it.

I liked both characters. Orwenna and smart and strong, unwilling to let anyone dictate her life. My only issue with her was that she seemed determined to assume the worst about Huroth. But, she was fine otherwise.

Huroth was protective over those within his care and determined to do what was best for his clan. He was sweet and I liked him.

The romance was great. Orwenna and Hu

Huroth awakes, trapped in ice despite his fiery strength as dragon chief. His alarm clock? A deranged, banished magician who is out for power, instead Huroth descends upon the kingdom, and takes princess as his betrothed. It's too bad that the princess is an infant and that Huroth is attracted by a much more age appropriate woman of the court: Lady Orwenna.

First off, Orwenna wins for my favorite character name of the year so far. It's delicate

A fantasy adventure involving long sleeping dragons awakened to new alliances with humans.

Delightfully packed with magic and myths and legends, there is much left unsaid about the reasons the dragons were put to slumber in the first place, but this is book one, so I'm hoping that all comes out at a later date, in a later book.

Orwenna is a strong willed woman, who doesn't want to do what is expected of her,

"4 out of 5 stars!! Set in a mystical world where old world nobility meets magic and dragon shutters, you follow two individuals who connect during remarkable circumstances and who are trying to carve out better paths for themselves by whatever means they can.

I was intensely drawn to this novel from its prologue and onward. So much so, that I completed reading it in a day! With its fascinating plot and fun characters, I could not get enough!"

I loved the idea of a clan of dragon shifters, and was not disappointed by this story. The plot is very fast-paced and keeps readers caught up in suspense and romance. The story is well-written and extremely detailed without getting you bogged down in minutia.

I enjoyed getting to know Orwenna and Huroth. They are both intriguing characters. Orwenna is strong and independent, unwilling to let anyone control her life. Huroth is protective of everyone in the clan, and is determined to

After centuries of being in a spellbound sleep, Huroth recognizes the need for forming alliances and mate bonds with humans but his clan is divided. When he meets Lady Orweena he’ll do whatever it takes to convince her and his clan that she belongs with him in this enchanting dragon fantasy romance. The author has created an intriguing world of dragons and magic with some interesting elements that keeps things entertaining. I was ensnared by the story although I wish it had been more informative ...more

I have read a few of Diana Green's books and I was really looking forward to reading Dragon Wife as it is different from what I had read before from her. I had never heard or read of Dragon Shifters before. I loved the characters, the plot and it was all so well detailed that I was completely hooked and I was actually in the book.
I do not want to give away too much hence why I have not written about the storyline but it is fantastic and very well written. A great start to the series and I

This was an interesting take on dragons. There's a lot of potential to build from this premise but I thought the book was a little too short for my taste. While the writing is decent, it didn't feel like there was a lot of depth. At the same time, who doesn't like dragons?

Nice book

Good job writing this book. Although it had a slow start getting to the gist of the story, I was sorry to see it end. I was hoping to read more of Ayelet's plight and her life unfolding as a dragon wife. And what of the children? How did they turn out not being able to shift? Unfortunately I was left with more questions than answers.

Dragon Wife is a fantasy novel about Huroth's clan of dragons making an alliance with a small kingdom of people in exchange for the king's daughter to become the wife of Huroth's son.

At this time in history a few people were able to perform magic. Most kept quiet about it because others called it witchcraft and were very uncomfortable with it. One of those able to do small bits of magic was Orwenna, the king's niece. She mind-spoke with Huroth when he arrived in her kingdom to make t

A historical romance of a dragon with a feisty heroine on it's tail!
Although most of the paranormal stories tend to gravitate towards modern time this particular book has successfully leapt across time to find it's conventional motifs in the 18th century society, where sea voyages and astonishing inventions were paving way for an incoming revolution. It depicts a society which at once wants to move forward by embracing the new but is also held back through superstitions of witchery and mag

Orwenna is our heroine and the king's niece with a gift in magic. Now with humans the gift of Magic isn't welcomed and looked on as evil. She keeps her abilities hidden from other's so she isn't looked down upon. Huroth our hero is a dragon and chieftain of the dragons who lived in Dragonvale. Does he really love me?

This was an enjoyable read. The characters, especially Huroth and Orwenna (Wen), are interesting and complex. The story has adventure, intrigue, misunderstandings, and love. As a teenager visiting the King's court, Orwenna is present when her Uncle Vardis, the king's brother and a mage, informs the king that he has returned as an emissary of a clan of dragons and the dragon chief was on his way to the castle. Unlike the rest of the court, Orwenna is excited abo

Short, easy, and sweet read with some solid world building. However, I found the ending disappointing among other things. My pet peeves are as follows:
The attraction between Huroth and Orwenna is never really explored in detail it's just something that existed and when described it is rather brief. There is a supposedly 'magical' connection between them formed the moment they locked eyes but it was fleeting. The reason it was fleeting is quite obvious Wen was only a teen. So for SEVEN yea

Dragon Shifter Romance That's Sure to Please Most PNR Fans

3 1/2 stars.

"Dragon Wife" is a sweet fantasy romance by indie author Diana Green. It's well written, well told, and just, well, sweet. I don't know how else to describe it.

Orwena is a human magic user, niece to the King and overlooked by many of her relatives, including her father. Huroth is a dragon Chieftan, recently awakened from a centuries-long spell that has kept him and his diminished clan asleep

I liked this book and recommend it to anyone who likes paranormal romance books.

That being said I feel the story started off very slow but I think that's mostly due to the
author putting to much into describing the background in to great of detail.
As a reader I find it harder to imagine the setting when I'm given an
overload of things to take in. Unless something is important to the over
all story or at least to that part of the story I prefer a broader descripti

Sweet Story but Exciting

Sweet is a perfect way to describe the love story between Orwenna (Wen) and her ferocious but loving dragon, Huroth. The passion is there between them, in every word they exchange, every touch, and every glance. Huroth is assuredly all male but he's not an Alpha, which was a welcome change from many other books. He treats Wen delicately and their love story blossoms a little bit at a time. Wen isn't a simpering woman - she's determined to find her own way in l

Orwenna dreamed of experiencing romance, adventure and mystery in her future. Reality crushed those dreams when her father betrothed her to Rollin, a boring, uncaring man who worked with her father. She knew she had to do something drastic to avoid this turn of events. That opportunity came when she overheard the King telling her uncle about an imminent attack that would need the help of the Dragon people. Several years before, an alliance had been made with Huroth, chieftain of the dragons. Orw ...more

A quick, enjoyable read.

I originally gave this book a three star review, but, after some consideration, I upped it to a four. I realized I had let my frustration with formatting affect my impression of the story. If the formatting had been more standard, I would have had a much better reading experience.

The story itself was pretty good. I like shape shifters. Men who shift into dragons (or dragons who can shift into human form) were certainly interesting. In true romance fashion, th

Holy crap guys.. This book was fantastic. This is so far off the romance books that I typically find myself reading and wow, I really enjoyed this book! My husband has always reminded me that when we first got together I said I didn't like sci-fi books or movies, but I watch/read stuff like Harry Potter & The Hunger Games. Diana Green has gained a new fan with this book. I did not want to put it down. I rarely ever read before I have coffee, but I picked my kindle up off the charger as soon ...more

I received this book from Reading Alley in return for a fair and honest review.

This book is what I would describe as a slow burner in the very best sense - the author has given the characters time to develop, to become their own person, before they even attempt a relationship together. Nothing seems rushed in this story, indeed we start the book when Orwenna is still quite young.

Although she is given quite a bit of leeway from her father, as detailed in the book, she is eventually b

"Dragon Wife" by Diana Green is Book 1 of the Dragon Clan series and it plunges us into the fantastical world of Huroth and Lady Orwenna, a dragon chief and a healer, and the mental bond between them.
After centuries of sleep, the dragon clan is waking to a world where humans abound. Huroth understands the need for the clan to adapt by forming alliances with the humans, but not all dragons agree. As tensions mount and kingdoms go to war, not only will Huroth's leadership be tested but, more

I didn't expect to really like this fantasy about shape shifting dragons who can mind link and humans but I did. That some of those humans were also capable of magic made them unacceptable to their human counterparts and different from all the others.
Lady Orwenna is one of those AND chaffed at the way men treated women--using them to their own ends without even a by you leave!! She did what she wanted--even if it might land her in a heap of trouble!

Dragon Wife is a classic fantasy novel. In other words...My favorite type of escape from reality. Every time I finish a fantasy novel I feel a void. A strong desire to continue the story. Dragons hold a special place near and dear to my heart, especially if they can fly and communicate with us humans. My first love was a fantasy novel that featured dragons, and that love holds strong.

Diana Green has written another winner for me. I have read one previous novel from Green and loved every minute
