As you read this, understand that no matter who you are or what you do, regardless of how much money or power you possess, and irrespective of your overall actions or inactions in life, there will always be people who generate positive thoughts and emotions about you. These individuals will have faith in you and provide unwavering support. Conversely, there will be those who generate negative thoughts and emotions about you. Such individuals will harbor animosity and resentment towards you, never believing in you and failing to offer genuine support. In the end, all positive and negative thoughts and beliefs about you will balance each other out, and the sum will be zero. That's how the system is designed, and that's how your part in the game works.
This balance and equilibrium in the collective thought generation process is not only associated with individuals but is also evident throughout our society. From political ideologies to religious beliefs, and from our choices of movies, music, and sports to all the fashion choices we make and the food we like or dislike, the equilibrium in collective thought generation can be observed. This balance and the zero-sum game serve as the central theme of this book.
