An account of the second world war by the war photographer Robert Capa and with plenty of his photos inside the book. It is surprisingly lightly written, filled with anecdotal stories, sometimes slightly exaggerated for comic effect. Inevitably also war stories that catch in your throat. Overall an unique account of WWII written by someone crazy enough to jump from war planes with troops and disembark on the French shore on D-day armed with a camera.
An interesting read about the iconic WWII photographer. Not only are his photographs recognized by many people, but he was also an interesting character.
