Every year I choose a book of daily devotions or maybe two to read throughout the year. Last year, I read A Daybook of Grace because my special niece is named Grace. This was an outstanding book - words of many people, some famous, some not, but with meaning, trying to focus the reader on a quieter, more graceful life. No one would ever say I led a graceful life, but that does not mean that I do not value grace. I wish I had more grace. Grace is not taken, purchased, or grabbed. It is given freely for any reason. I wish I could be graceful all the time. I can not but this book had readings for each day that put me in a nicer mood to go about my life that day. I highly recommend this book and I will reread it some year. Peaceful. Kind. Grace granted for any reason. An ideal gift book.

I won't give this a star rating because I don't really know what to rate it.
The devotional itself was okay. My favorites were the devotionals by A.W.Pink, Chambers, Spurgeon...but a few of the modern ones were good too. I felt like it stated the obvious for the most part and the book seemed to have an overall theme of "if you give, you will get back tenfold!" "If you tithe, you'll always get it returned to you" and "if you're good to people, you'll be blessed right back" and I can tell you from persona experieince that it is not always the case. Sometimes we don't ever get anything back until we're at home You can be the nicest person in the world and still be disliked by people, poor, etc. So that's a wrong theme and it encourages an ultirior motive for giving. But all in all, there were so many good devotionals. I had many that I put a heart beside because it brought out the truth about God so beautifully. Recommended for an evening read or maybe something that doesn't require a lot of thought or comprehension.

I loved this daily devotional. A great combination of scripture and real life stories. A page a day. But sometimes I would read more than one!
