Seit den bekannten Abenteuern von Tom und Huck sind ca. 2 Jahre vergangen. Die Jungs sind nun etwa 15 Jahre alt, als sie einen Ballon besichtigen, mit dem ein verrückter Professor die Erde umrunden will. Leider startet der Professor noch bevor Jim, Huck und Tom das Luftschiff verlassen können und nimmt sie auf eine abenteuerliche Reise mit.
