You bring up great points. Was claire not her birthname? And what's the significance of the colored wines? They were 2 peas in a pod. One cut their hair to match the other. I have only read it once and trying to figure it all out. Great questions.
Claire was not her birth name. That is mentioned in the book. She was given the name Claire after she went to live with Amber/Taylor and her parents gave her the name Claire.
