Another one I hate, mainly used in historical fiction, is The [blank's] Daughter, or Wife. Occasionally the parent referred to is the mother (The Witch's Daughter, The Heretic's Daughter - and that's a trend right there, with the mother being a "troublemaker" of some sort), but it's almost always the father. In the description of The Artist's Daughter (I believe) it actually mentioned that the titular character was an artist herself, but STILL in the title she's defined by her relationship to a man.
