Carolyn I have this cover edition because i got the book as soon as it was released (part of me likes this edition because it is no longer printed but i also like the Aidan/Eleanor cover more). Anyway, I have compared this book with my copy of Demelza and the face may have been computer generated. In the front of Demelza it lists the photographer in the cover design part and then again on the back cover. However, for Jeremy Poldark in the same cover design spot they list a few usernames on what I assume is a computer program called Shutterstock. That is disappointing to me since I have thought it was a real person until now. I think the publishers maybe just wanted to test this cover out because it is lacking some finishing touches that the previous 2 books (and the reprinting of this book) have like the "As Seen on Masterpiece on PBS" front blurb and the back cover copyright.

Sandra Visser Hi Carolyn, thanks for the reply. Yes, Shutterstock is a database of stock pictures so it seems this is a composite of stock images that someone thought looked like an adult Jeremy. Thanks for supplying the info! It seems with every reprint they change the cover as the one in shops again differs from the one I have: it's the same pic of Aidan and Eleanor but it's a different ship at the bottom.

Carolyn Sure thing! I was glad that I finally thought to look here on Goodreads to see if anyone else was as curious as I was about that lol. And yes, originally Sourcebooks Landmark was the publisher for the US TV Tie-in editions but for some reason after book 3, the series was taken over by (I think) St Martin's Press. I'm not sure if they have reprinted books 1 and 2 with their label but the did reprint 3 to match 4, 5, and 6. I am so torn about whether to buy the new tv tie ins (because I don't yet own the next 3 books) or to just start buying the original editions now because either way, they won't match the 3 I have now and this may sound picky but that always bothers me. Especially because the new ones are thicker and have white spines instead of red. I also really loved the design of the Sourcebooks editions more than what I have seen of the new ones. And this is silly but I don't really like George or Elizabeth so even though I have nothing against the actors, I really don't care to have covers with their characters on them. I do like that the Four Swans has Caroline though, I really like her character. So yea, bookish dilemma...sorry for the ramble lol.
