Realizing we all filter writing through our own lenses, so every viewpoint is valid, even when it doesn't match the author's intent-- I just want you to know I find every one of your points to be astoundingly inaccurate -- every one of them.
I completely agree. I had to read it for my book club and absolutely hated it for all of the reasons you stated.
The book gave me a queasy stomach. I would burn it if I could, but that would worry the neighbors and probably be bad for the environment. I was browsing in a used book store, and noticed 5 copies of Ruby on the shelf. This confirms it was not a book one would want to keep and pass along to a friend.
