Camie If this book were music , it would come with a warning label ! This book is misrepresented by the packaging. Lots of them are ending up in the trash can. This book is very polarizing. People are upset that others don't like it. I'm fine with people who want to read it. I just wish someone had warned me about what it really was before I bought it.

Tara Did you not read the plot description on the back cover? It's pretty clear that this is not a happy story and instead of throwing the book away, people should donate their unwanted copies to local charities/thrift shops. It's fine if you don't like the book but at some point, you have to take responsibility for your own reading choices.

Camie No I bought it online, so I didn't see the backcover. Actually it was a Sideread for my Bookclub but only a few finished it. I did pass it on to a friend. He was generous and gave it 2 stars. And absolutely I do take responsibility for my reading choices, that's why I didn't read it.

Tara I see-well,then I'm sorry that your book club didn't enjoy Ruby and glad to hear that you passed your copy onto a friend. I'm reading Ruby right now and while it's a sad story, it is beautifully written. Also glad to see Oprah using her book club power to promote promising new writers again.

Camie Some people are into content and some into beautiful writing. I find it interesting that you are just reading it now , given your former comments. Enjoy !
