Ivan and Tej seem just like the parents anyone would wish for themselves.
Dex - Gregor already has offspring; they're mentioned (though not by name) in both Captain Vorpatril's Alliance and Flowers of Vashnoi. In CVA, Ivan (I think) mentions Gregor's "boys", which means he already has at least two. In FoV, Ekaterin thinks of Gregor and Laisa's new daughter, which means that Gregor has at least three kids by that point.
I bet that Ivan and Tej start having kids soon after the epilogue of CVA (when they discuss if they should start procreating). My guess is that they have only daughters (to further cut down any risk of them being used as pawns against Gregor), and that they have around 2-3 kids. Not just 1, because Ivan is an only child, and would probably want his kids to have siblings, and not too many, because Tej grew up in a huge family, and knows what it's like to be overshadowed by her siblings.
