jm_________________________ Because he wasn't a villain. He was traumatized by everything that had happened and didn't handle it in the best way, ending up taking it out on Feyre.
I think what made him a villain is what he did to her sisters- never excusing any of his actions, because it was abuse anyway.

Lu Michelini Yeah, but what he did to her sisters wasn't really his fault either, but Ianthe's. My view is exactly that, that he was also traumatized and didn't handle Feyre in the best way, but then again, he had no obligation to be her therapist. SJM should've left it at that

jm_________________________ No, he didn't have that obligation. But being her partner, he had the obligation to help her when he saw the desperate state she was in- and maybe he didn’t saw it because he was to foccused on his own trauma (but everyone else saw it- Rhys,Mor, even Lucien).
And he was responsible for what happened to her sisters - not directly, but he did let Ianthe into his court...

Lu Michelini He let Ianthe into his court because he trusted her, he didn't know she was going to betray Feyre - and, tbh, at this point Feyre had done more to him than he ever did to her, she poisoned the entire court against him and caused way bigger problems than him not knowing how to deal with her trauma. He was done so dirty in this series

jm_________________________ True. Which she also admitted (although it was too late for apologies and regrets). Because of her and her need for revenge, a lot happend that could have been avoided.
As for Ianthe, he could have known if he didn't just care about his own opinions and believes (the Tithe is a good eg).
But, he was convinced that Feyre belonged to him and, and in my opinion, that was the main cause of it all.
