Totally understand I do that all the time I get so engrossed in the story because I want to find out what happened!!
I too, was rushing through the book. How do you know that the dog doesn't die? And what happened to the guy in the toolshed?
Wylie/Jessie told Becky that she released Jackson after Randy died. She told Becky that she had tried to explain to Jackson, but that Becky wasn't to worry about him. That's all we know. She doesn't mention Tas after she decided not to lock him in the bathroom in the climactic scene. I assume Randy killed the other dog to make it easier to kidnap her, but that is never addressed.
