I agree. At first, the "flashbacks" were confusing, as if there was more background info we should know. But it all came clear in the end, & Frankie emerged as a damaged but powerful character! It was #1 in the new series & I was hooked, but I've now read #2 (One Step Too Far) & was extremely disappointed.
