Kruti I know how you feel! I was disappointed as well.

Amber J. LOL @ Detergent

All the negative reviews of this book are making me nervous :s
I really loved Divergent and Four was the main reason - maybe I just shouldn't read the book lol

Inge There are also a lot of raving reviews, so you'll really have to see for yourself.

Personally I thought Four was a dickhead in this book.

Ruby Detergent...hahahahhha brilliant!!

message 5: by Gillian (new)

Gillian I agree with you so much on this review. Especially about the Maze Runner. I had even been on Veronica's website recently and there is a part where she talks about the Maze Runner! I was really upset by that fact, I didn't like the Maze Runner very much. This book fell short for me after Divergent.

Shirlyn Chin haha. Fucknuckle. Is that a word? Nontheless, it's true though. Tris does remind me of Bella in this book.Detergent. Haha. Most authors mess up the second book, isn't it? And can I know what is 'The Maze Runner'??

message 7: by Irroc29 (new)

Irroc29 You made me laugh! (Ya I went there)

Fucknuckle is a word I picked up from A Girl Like You by Gemma Burgess, a fantastic book which made me laugh hysterically :D Oh yes, the Second Novel Curse is definitely a thing, unfortunately. The Maze Runner is a trilogy by James Dashner, which is fantastic in every single way :) go check them out!

@ Irroc29: Thank you! :D

message 9: by Shirlyn (new)

Shirlyn Chin Thank you Inge, I'll definitely check it out. Looking forward to more of your awesome reviews... Yours are always the most original...and colourful ones(if you know what I mean). #wink#

Haha, thank you so much! :D My exams will be over on Tuesday, so expect more elaborate reviews after that.

message 11: by Nadhira (new)

Nadhira Amalia it's sad, but however i agree with ur opinion. i felt the same way too. especcially about four T__T i even prefer peter, and uriah.. and also caleb

message 12: by Jackie (new)

Jackie Not done reading this yet, but Four is also pissing me off. I feel like Tris' way of dealing with the events that have happened is realistic, but that doesn't make it any more annoying. I think Roth could have shown the agony Tris is experiencing in a better way, maybe something on a deeper level that isn't quite so 'on the surface' for lack of a better word. It definitely is starting to feel a little Bella-ish.

I hope it'll improve for you, but if you're already dissatisfied then I doubt it. It's just not as good as Divergent.

Inge Thanks, girls!

message 22: by Raquel (new)

Raquel Perez I totally agree on you with this book.... I felt cheated of my time after reading the second book I really hope that last one is better written then this one!

I personally liked the last book better than this one, but there are a lot of people out there who will disagree with me. So it's up to you. Hope you enjoy!

message 24: by Kelly (new)

Kelly This review is probably the best review on this book. NO, it definitely is the best review. I completely agree with you on EVERYTHING. T o b i a s (what fucking name is Tobias anyway) stupid little mommy's bitch.

This book destroyed my hopes and dreams. It was so bad that the most likable character in here was PETER (...yeah, you heard me). Nevertheless, lets all pray for the third installment.

Hahaha, thank you so much! I actually like the name Tobias, but not in the way they butchered it in the movie. He was very annoying in this book though. What a douche.

Joe Lundy Well, I am not shocked that you feel this way about the book. There are many people that I know who feel almost the exact way that you do. However, I think that you are taking to hating this book a little to far. The book itself wasn't all that bad. Now, compared to Divergent it was trash, and maybe not even that. I am shocked by the fact that you say Four was some terrible person. I thought Four, or Tobias, wasn't all that bad of a person. Tris still loved him throughout the book and I'd say that according to the circumstances, Tobias handled everything in a very sensible manner. Like his father, you can't possibly blame Tobias after Marcus put him through all that pain and I do, however, understand Marcus's situation and I'm sure Marcus had good intentions, only he went about it all the wrong way. I hope you see my point of view, and try to have a brighter look at the book than you did before. Farewell.

message 27: by Hannah (new)

Hannah Wilborn I agree with Joe. My whole problem with this book was that I was comparing it to Divergent the entire time. On the contrary, the first 100 pages was all I found interesting about the book. As for the rest, I actually had to listen to the book on tape it was so slow. Keeping up with all the new characters, dead characters, captives, weird factionless people turned supreme over lords , etc. was a challenge. It took me 10 minutes to sort through all the characters.
I indeed had such great expectations for this book. I was hoping Roth would resolve this madness, but sadly she just added gasoline to an already raging fire of whaaaa??? It was a nicely written book, I'll give her that. BUT THE CLIFF-HANGER! Dear Lord, it's like a vicious trap! You read the flawless Divergent, then you move to the slightly less flawless Insurgent. And you read Allegiant and you give up on love and hope and all a person every needs...
I liked your review by the way :)

Thank you :) Well, of course everyone's going to compare it to Divergent. If you're going to write a series, you set a certain standard with your first book. If your first book is fast, exciting, and action-packed, then everyone's going to expect the same thing from the sequel. It's only logical. Yeah, you almost need a chart for all the characters :P I actually did like Allegiant, I think I'm one of the few who did.

Joe wrote: "Well, I am not shocked that you feel this way about the book. There are many people that I know who feel almost the exact way that you do. However, I think that you are taking to hating this book a..."

You do not know hate if you think I'm hating on this book. I've written far worse reviews than this one, believe me. I rated it 2.5 stars, so that's half the score. It's between "it's okay" and "I liked it". So obviously there were some things that I liked, but with a rating like this, it means there were certain things I didn't like that I just couldn't ignore. Of course I'm going to compare it to Divergent - it's the same author and the same series. I just really didn't like the character changes.
