Katja Labonté NB: Please don't come in the comments to argue with my opinions; I guarantee that is not the way to change my stance and I have no interest in brawling online 😉

Sarah Brazytis If you enjoy courtroom battles and John Adams' defense of the British, I think you'll love 'The Story of the Boston Massacre' by Mary Kay Phelan. I've loved it for years and years, and reread it fairly frequently! Like John Adams, I am a patriot at heart, but believe like him that the British soldiers deserved a fair trial and received a just result. It's one of those history books that read like fiction!

Thank you!

Keturah I have no argument, promise! I've never heard a Canadian say they disagreed with the ARW, despite having Canadian family and friends. I find that interesting. You might enjoy The Light and The Glory by Peter Marshall and David Manuel. They include a lot of rare first hand accounts, including one that involved using hymn books for cannon/gun wadding. The stories from that book have stuck with me for 30+ years now. Kabbalah and the Founding of America: The Early Influence of Jewish Thought in the New World by Brian Ogren is really fascinating and rather shocking. Puritans, including Cotton Mather, were studying and using Kabbalah and actively converting others to it. It's quite wild!
Thanks for great reviews and books to add to my heavy "to read" list :)
