Kathie I just saw that someone had reccommended the Fablehaven series and wondered if you had read any of them. Now I see that you have. Good, I will have to read them sometime.

Stephen I'm itching to get a copy of this edition. Too bad not even one bookstore I've been to sells it. I'd really like to know what you think about the series, but your review has spoilers and I don't want important details to be given out...just yet. T___T

Luann That's too bad! I hope you can get a copy of it soon. The copy I read was from my library.

I only talked about the end in one sentence, but I like to be careful since some people are very picky about any sort of talk about the ending at all. Here is my review without that sentence:

I really like the Fablehaven series as a whole, and highly recommend them. I have enjoyed some of the books more than others, but thought this one was very good. It did start out a bit slow, I thought, with only small bits of action here and there. Once the team started their mission to Wyrmroost, the Dragon Sanctuary, though, my attention was firmly caught and I enjoyed the adventure.

There weren't very many fairies in this one, but there were plenty of other legendary creatures to make up for their absence, including two new types: an alcetaur (creature with the head of a man and the body of a moose) and astrids (creatures with the body of owls and the faces of humans). Very interesting! I also loved the small, shiny dragon, Raxtus, who reminded me a bit of Ruth, one of Anne McCaffrey's dragons.
