Di Hi everyone! In this thread, please introduce yourself so we can all get to know one another. Tell us a little bit about yourself like who your favorite mystery authors are or what your favorite mystery series is.

ambiekraftsreads Hey Y'all!! I've never read any mysteries. I'm going to use this read-a-thon to rectify that. I'm more drawn to cozy mysteries. That will probably be what I read. I'm also drawn to paranormal mysteries. I those will probably be the main books I read. No idea how many books I'll read, because I'm a slow reader. I'm excited for this!!

Happy Reading and God Bless

message 3: by Sina (new)

Sina Moore Hi my name is Sina and I'm from Germany living in Kansas. I don't have a favorite genre neither do I have a special way to pick the next read, it just tends to be whatever peaks my attention. My favorite mystery author hands down is Agatha Christie!

message 4: by Di (new)

Di Welcome Ambiekraftsreads! I read a lot of cozies and paranormal mysteries myself, so I look forward to your thoughts on the books you decide to read ^-^

message 5: by Di (new)

Di Hi Sina! I don't usually have a specific way to pick books myself and I'm terrible at sticking to a TBR, but I'm going to try to be a good example during the Readathon lol. Thanks for joining us!

Raul Hey everyone!! I'm Raul. I also go by Latin Lector on YouTube. I love mysteries! It's one of my favorite genres. My favorite author is Dean Koontz and I enjoy adult mysteries more than I do YA mysteries.

Arlene Hey! My name is Arlene. I participated in MMM last year and enjoyed it. My twitter handle is LocPressedBooks and that is pretty much where I'll be talking about the books I'm reading for the month. I also have a blog: locpressedbooks.blogspot.com where I will be putting up my reviews of some of the books I'll be reading this month.

I love mysteries, I love the thrill they give and I love trying to figure out a good whodunit. My favorite mystery writer would definitely have to be Jessica Fletcher, The Course that Dance at Midnight was fantastic! lol But no seriously, James Patterson's Alex Cross Series is one of my favorites, The Tamara Hayle series by Valerie Wilson Wesley is def up at the top. I love the Vernetta Henderson Series by Pamela Samuels Young, The Rizzoli and Isles series by Tess Gerritsen and one that has recently become my favorite the PC Peter Grant series by Ben Aaronovitch.

message 11: by Debbi (new)

Debbi Faust Good Morning everyone! My name is Debbi. I don't usually read a lot of mysteries but I love Elizabeth at Lizzie Faye Loves Books and I decided I would join in the MMM. I have had so much fun putting together my list....from Nancy Drew, Agatha Christie to authors I have never heard from. I even found a few books on my own shelf that I would fit into some of the categories.

It was nice meeting everyone. I hope you all have a great reading month in March. Cheers!

message 12: by Tim (new)

Tim Smith Hi,I'm Tim. I like to read thrillers and they are the main type of books I read. I also read other types of mysteries. My favorite author is Tom Clancy. I've recently read some books by David Baldacci which I've enjoyed and plan on reading more of his books. I also like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and various other authors that wrote mysteries from the 1850's through the 1950's.

I'll be reading the first in the Tamara Hayle series during the readathon and I am excited to get into it! I have been collecting the Rizzoli and Isles series for a few years but haven't read any of them yet lol. I have watched the TV series though and enjoyed it. Looking forward to your tweets in March!

Debbie Harris Hi everyone! I am Debbie and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I love mysteries and am looking forward to this Read-a-long. And the added benefit is my TBR is growing in leaps and bounds.

message 18: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Hello All!
My name is Morghan. I live in the great state of TX, and I am crazy about mysteries. I love the classics (Sherlock Holmes FTW's!). I am also really into cozy mysteries ( Joanne Fluke, Cleo Coyle, and Lillian Jackson Braun are some faves) and also the cozy mysteries with a more romantic flair (Gemma Halliday and Jenna Bennett). I am really excited to be connected to a group of people who are as into the genre as I am. :)

Hi Morghan! Thanks for joining us. I'll be reading a Sherlock Holmes during the readathon. I am not very familiar with the character, but I'm looking forward to becoming a little more familiar with him. Glad to have another cozy mystery reader too! Of the authors you mentioned, I have only read Joanne Fluke, but I do have a couple of the others on my list to read. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the books you read!

Evgeny Hello!

After some lurking here I realized it is time to introduce myself. I am Evgeny from Canada (French-speaking part of it); happy to be here. Since the time I stumbled upon a Sherlock Holmes book at my relatives' place I am a big fan of mysteries.

I prefer so-called fair mysteries just because they give you a chance to use your head trying to figure it out. Agatha Christie is still unsurpassed in this. I also started reading cozy mysteries lately.

Christie's Poirot is great (exception - Big Four) as so is Miss Marple. Avoid her international conspiracy / espionage novels are they are really weak.

Thanks for the recommendations! I read the first Poirot novel last year and enjoyed it. I still need to venture into Miss Marple. The only other Christie I read was And Then There Were None, which I enjoyed also.

message 26: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Meadows Hello to everyone who has chimed in so far. I'm so glad that you could join in on the 2nd Annual MarchMysteryMadness reading challenge. I am a big fan of cozy mysteries and if you have been watching my cozy mystery bookshelf tours, you know that I have a huge collection. Besides mysteries, I also read a lot of middle grade books, as well as lots of other genres. When I'm not booktubing, I work two part time jobs. Both of have some built in reading time. I am a substitute teacher and theme park performer. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful teenage daughters who all loves books too. I used to be the book sales chairman for our local Friends of the Library which I blame for my giant book hauls from the past few years. I'm also the steward for a Little Free Library in our downtown area and hope to put one up at my house in the near future. I love audio books as well as print books and I usually have 4 to 6 books going at one time.

Jen (Remembered Reads) Hi there!

I'm Jen, and I recognize several of you from Youtube (I'm Remembered Reads over there). Thanks to Elizabeth for drawing my attention to this group! :)

I'm not normally a huge mystery/crime reader, and I usually only read mysteries as part of family read-a-longs, so I'm going to use this as a fun excuse to look for some new books without having to think of whether my mother/sister/husband will enjoy the same titles.

Elizabeth Meadows Hi Robin, Welcome to the group. I live in Central Florida so we're practically neighbors! During part of Thanksgiving week we are going to be camping at Oscar Scherer and Koreshan State Parks. Let me know of any used book stores in the area or any libraries that have good sale areas. I love to book shop while traveling!

*・Stay Gold, Soko・* Hey! I'm new to goodreads. I'm Mari from NY and I love mystery, thrillers, crime fiction and True crime books. I saw someone mention dean Koontz and agatha christie great authors btw! I welcome all recommendations! Nice to meet you all.

message 37: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Meadows Hi Mari, Welcome to Goodreads and to the Mystery Madness group. This group has the most activity in March because it was created for the March Mystery Madness readathon. But during the rest of the year Di uses it to host the #Book1CoziesClub where we read 1st in series cozy mysteries. The book we are finishing up for June is On What Grounds by Cleo Coyle. July's pick is Mad Season by Nancy Means Wright. You can also look back through the threads for the books we have already read and comment on any of those that you have read or plan to read in the future.

Btw, love Koreshan. It's absolutely gorgeous.

Margaret Watson Hi, my name is Margaret. I live in Colorado Springs, CO. I love Cozy Mysteries. I can't pick one particular author because I love and follow so many. I am retired so it fills a lot of my time and keeps me from being bored. I love reading to my two dogs a Poodle/Jack Russell Terrier and a Yorkie. I get a lot of reading done this way. They love this time with me. I call it a cuddle puddle!!! I look forward to being in this club. Thank you for letting me join.

Lilkadykitty :) Hey guys, I read some mysteries. I don't know for sure what category of mystery I fall into. I have been slowly making my way through the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.

message 47: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Hi everyone! My name is Lisa. I participated in March Mystery Madness last year and am happy to be back. I enjoy the In Death series by JD Robb and cozy mysteries in general. Most of my reading will be e-books from Overdrive because I went back to work full time in August and it’s so much easier to just take my kindle to read on my lunch break. I have a long commute each day but I don’t like to listen to audio mystery books because I feel like I miss too many clues if my mind wanders for a minute or traffic takes my focus away from the story.

Hi Lisa! Glad to have you back. My Mom's favorite series is the In Death series, but I've only read the first one! I need to get on that. Overdrive is amazing and I love that you don't have to return the book, it just returns itself! I do listen to audiobooks, usually in the morning when I'm getting ready for work. I can't listen to them in the car if I'm driving though. I loose too much of the story then.
