Lauryn April I noticed there wasn't really a thread to promote your KDP Free days. As this group is "How to promote your book on AMAZON" I'm guessing a lot of people are in the KDP program. So anyone have and books that are going to be up for free?

My YA Paranormal Romance, Into the Deep, will be available for FREE the 9th 10th and 11th of September.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008SG0ACQ

Ivy Daniels is a high school junior still learning who she is. After almost drowning, Ivy finds herself with an ability she doesn’t want, an ability to uncover secrets which quickly begins to redefine what she thinks about the people around her as well as herself. Because of this ability, Ivy becomes the one thing that stands between an angry teen and the death of every student on campus. The only problem is she doesn’t know who wants everyone dead. Will she figure out whose secret is that they’re planning to blow up her school, or will she fail to find him in time?

Through her search to do the right thing, Ivy discovers that knowing the thoughts and secrets of those around her may just tear her apart.

Into the Deep is a parnormal romance for mature young adults, that looks at how we define who we are, and what it means to feel alone. It contains minimal use of strong language and mild sensuality.

Renny Barcelos Great idea!

My novelette is going to be free for the last time, since I won't renew with KDP Select.

Cassandra Connelly looks like a normal twenty-four-year-old girl. She seems sweet and shy. She works hard in two jobs and still finds time to do volunteer work. Nonetheless, there's something wrong within her. She has a lot of anger boiling inside, and a very problematic past, making her a dark, twisted woman.

She hides her true self from the world, but there's someone Cassandra hates so much, she has been thinking of doing something unspeakable: killing this person.

To her, killing this person is absolutely necessary, for he or she should not be alive. However, since she is still not sure about doing it or not, she seeks help. She goes to a psychiatrist in order to make a decision: should she continue hiding her meanness and being a normal girl, or should she let the meanness win and kill this person she believes deserves to die?

In this contemporary piece of fiction, we'll find out how badly child abuse and a dysfunctional family can transform a life for worse, much worse.

Mean is a novelette (longer than a short-story but shorter than a novella).

ADVICE: CONTAINS VIOLENT SCENES AND HARSH LANGUAGE

John Renata:

Can I ask why you're not renewing with KDP Select? I'm not renewing any of my books either, and the reason is that I have noticed when my books have been through the KDP program, it seems as though their sales rank drops. It's happened several times, so I've noticed a pattern. There is a flurry of downloads when I do the free promo days, but otherwise the books stop selling, or at least their sales diminish. Even after the three month period is over the sales of those books never comes back to the previous level.

Has this happened to anyone else?

The same thing happened to me. Plus I got my most scathing reviews ever from people who got it free!

But to lose sales, rankings and then get bad reviews is awful. I will not do KDP again.Make them at least pay for the privilige to be an Amazon confirmed.

Now I have to find someone to review my book to make up for the two awful ones. Go figure.

Elaine Walsh Atomic Summer rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 27 reviewers on Amazon

And its FREE Wednesday, Sept 26 and Thursday, Sept 27 In honor of my friends!

About me... I am a winner of the Chairman's Award for Excellence and a little known indie author. But my latest novel is going to change that!... Ok I hope. And if my fans are correct, the movie will be coming soon.

THREE friends, TWO secrets, ONE lie, and the summer that changed their lives.

"Captivating", "A Page Turner", "Must Read", "Put this at the TOP of your List"

The world is ripe for destruction in 1953. The Korean War drags on and the Rosenbergs are executed as spies. Senator Joseph McCarthy convinces the country communists are infiltrating the government, and the threat of nuclear war festered in the collective consciousness of the nation.

While the nation worries about communist bombs, sixteen-year-old Bernadette Vaughn holds court in the family bomb shelter, finagling a way to read Kinsey's groundbreaking work on human sexuality. She obsesses about boys and big city life. Her best friend, Faith McNulty is a devout Catholic who dreams of staying in their small town, marrying Allen Hanlon, and raising a family. Their awkward and unattractive friend, Octavia Mansfield doesn't have room in her life for boys, dreams, or God. She spends most of her young life caring for her severely disabled brother.
Their conversations about what each of them would do if the end of the world were imminent become the catalyst for a prank that spins wildly beyond control and draws in an entire town.

Left behind in the wake of that summer's events are their unrealized dreams and open wounds. In 1973, a reunion trip to the small town of their youth returns them to the summer of 1953 and the passion and betrayal that changed their lives.

If you liked the Ya - Ya Sisterhood, The Help, or just love good character driven novels, Atomic Summer is for you!

An Obstickle
I just love your sense of fun! Excellent.

You Are Here
If there was a competition for existential poem this one would have been my favourite!

The Lighthouse
Wow and no mistake. This all sounds extremely believable, like you were there.
I hope you didn't get too wet. A very accomplished write.

Old Mary
I am “touched” by this--- and I really mean it --- I think you are a sensitive, insightful, person who is able to convey their feelings by word to others. That is a great gift!! Thank you for sharing this special poem with me... I have printed me a copy to put in my scrapbook...

Ode Of The Bus Shelter Repair Man
I enjoyed your poem not only because it was so well written, but I stand in these places every week. We've all been there. Very well put; especially the last verse about which there is so much to be said.

Dunkability
Your poem is so good I think I could drink tea over this poem till the cows come home with a bikkie up my sleeve.

Which Word?
Which word you ask? I have a few for you though none of them probably the word you're looking for.
Unique. Creative. Talent.
