Benjamin Libet showed that cerebral motor action starts before we are conscious of deciding to act, and as Sam Harris puts it, "thoughts arise unauthored and yet author to our actions"
I am open to the possibility that there is no free will---but that is far from being proven in neuroscience. Science is a powerful tool, we shouldn't disgrace and belittle it by using such cavalier statements. There's a world of research to do first.
