i heard that matched was similar to the selection, which i loved, so i read matched and it was nothing like the selection. what makes the selection unique from other dystopian is that it doesnt feel futuristic. like, its not all about new technology. you forget what time period it is supposed to take place in because it mixes olden day fairy tale with modern day things, personally i feel like its more olden day.
so with matched and many other ya dystopian novels, they are very futuristic, and not really at all like the selection
