I found her more interesting, at that point in the story, than Daniel. I found almost everyone in the story more interesting than Daniel and Claudette. Those to navel-gazers bored me silly by the end.

Els fets del passat que visiten el present dels personatges de novella i lalteren, tant el present com el personatge, no és nou en la literatura. De fet, ni és nou ni original i abunda en la literatura actual, però hi ha autors que saben donar-los un tractament que acaba conferint una obra sorprenent malgrat que el tema sigui ja conegut. Trobaràs a faltar per sempre més els personatges d'aquest llibre, la seva passió, força i complexitat. Una història molt singular i intensa, amb una estructura no lineal que sorprèn i et permet conèixer els protagonistes a fons... i a estimar-los, i a qüestionar-los i tornar-los a estimar i a perdonar... una novel.la d'extrems que busquen un centre. Aquest deu ser el lloc, de Maggie O'Farrell, ens mostra el deteriorament d'un matrimoni que porta una vida no gaire convencional. En Daniel és un professor americà que va a parar una mica per casualitat a Irlanda, on coneixerà la Claudette, una exactriu de cine d'origen francès que un dia decideix desaparèixer amb el seu fill petit.
