Leslie Pressley I have a very reluctant 12 year old reader. He doesn't mind being read to, or a good audiobook, but he HATES TO READ--his words. We got him interested in graphic novels, but we want to expand reading list. Any suggestions?

Frances Altman Seek out new books too. Many authors today publish independently and local authors often speak at libraries in your community. Frances

Shelly Turner Gregor the Overlander series by Suzanne Collins and the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull! And OF COURSE, all of the Harry Potter books! Love, Love, Love!

I bought the Magic Tree House series for our Grandchildren, they also have a series of non fiction for older kids.

Betsy The Insiders and the other books that followed. Great for middle schoolers

You might check out the Ivy and Bean series by Annie Barrows, Dragonbreath by Ursula Vernon, and Mercy Watson by Kate DiCamillo. My daughter enjoyed those quite a bit around that age.

Erica Decker Amulet and Michael Vey help hook a lot of 5th graders.
