Rapunzel is a cute story about how a horse and a man, who do not like each other have to work together in order to save Rapunzel. Rapunzel teaches the man and the horse that in order to be friends they must treat each other the way they wanted to be treated. The horse and man soon became friends and they had to work together in order to save Rapunzel from her tower. I would use this book in my classroom to teach students about treating others how they want to be treated. This story shows that wh ...more

oh, fiona. what are you doing to me?

so, my daughter loves this book. because she can say: "mommy, read me a story" and i get stuck reading two stories, one about rapunzel and the golden rule (treat others like you yourself want to be treated) and one about rajah, jasmine's tiger, who falls in love with a tigress based solely on a drawing he sees of her on a poster.

not even joking.

of course, it comes at the expense of story. the rapunzel story is truncated severely here (mother gothel who?) in or

I didn't really like either of these stories. The Rapunzel one was part of the movie but it was changed and left out a lot of stuff from the movie. They would have been better off just writing a different story. The Jasmine one was better but still not great. Even some of the pictures for both were kind of weird. I think they should have made two separate books and made them each a little longer and spent more time developing them. That could have made them a lot better.

Rapunzel & the Golden Rule: By: Barbara Bazalda

This book is an action packed adventure. Therefore, this book would make a good discussion starter for the category initiative and exploration. Just like the woman in Rapunzel, children will demonstrate initiative and self-direction. I could create activities where children could ask questions and seek new information with assistance, looks for new information and wants to know more.

My daughter loved the book as she loves all of the Disney Princesses.

The Jasmine story was a nice short tale about her tiger Rajah falling in love and Jasmine trying to assist with matters.

The Rapunzel story was more just a few snippets from the movie Tangled. almost like it was 4 or 5 deleted scenes from a movie. Really glossed over any of the story to try to explain the friendship between Flynn and Maximus.
