Rate this book
Middle Terra Firma was home to an idyllic countryside and a wondrous variety of fantastical beings and magical inhabitants. It existed in peace and contentment, until the arrival of the creature known as The Dark Rider, and the havoc he wreaked as he traveled the Black Highway in his sixteen-wheeled dragon. To quote from The Book of Roadtrippin' by Bivouac, son of "It was he, The Dark Rider, who was in the driver's seat, and his wicked hands were clasped firmly on the wheel. Where he came from and where he was going nobody knew, but one thing was sure...there was no mistaking where he had been." Who is this terror bringing death and destruction to the magical land? Who are his victims and who has survived? What is his dire purpose...and where will it all end? Come, gentle readers -- be not afraid. The tale within these pages will explain all...except how to best prepare...

I read the entire book and I can honestly say it's trash/garbage. Poor taste and worse content to name just a few are the things you'll notice while reading this book. Truly disgusting content. Be warned.

I thought this book would be funny, perhaps it was intended for adolescent readers? I'm not even sure I would suggest it as adolescent reading. These themes, Lord of the Rings and roadkill, have a lot of potential for humor but very little evidence of this comical combination is contained in these pages.

Smog the dragon has become an 18 Wheeler which terrorizes Middle Earth. The Fellowship is armed with assault weapons and still loose the final battle. Both of these authors have established careers in the entertainment industry, I get the impression that they wrote the joke over a few pints.

This was recommended to me by a friend. I didn’t find it as funny as they’d suggested it would be.

Tasteless (and senseless) but mostly amusing spoof of LOTR.
