Really love Hajime no ippo!! Easily my favorite sports manga/anime, it’s a lot more than just the boxing! Great character development and story outside the sports part!😁👌🥊🥊❤️
Ippo wins his fight with Jason and sees Miyata's fight. He then learns about his next two opponents, first Yoshida Mitsuo who has a cowardly technique of clinching and jabbing and winning by decision, and then a very powerful boxer named Hayami, who has a shot-gun style of punches that come in very fast. Hayami is also a playboy with a huge fan following of cute girls, which enrages Ippo's friends. The four of them go to the beach to train, where Ippo improves the strength of his toes and prepares for his match with Yoshida.
Fun volume. I'm always surprised when I find myself actually laughing aloud to some of the slightly raunchy humor, but Takamura is really funny when he teases Ippo.
This one starts with the thrilling end of Ippo and Jason's match. Ippo goes to watch Miyata's fight, and learns about his next opponents. To help him prepare, the guys from the gym take him with them on a training week at the beach. Hilarious.
