The Everything Kids Giant Book Of Jokes, Riddles, and Brain Teasers
The title pretty much says it all
Sometimes you just need to read something light. But what made me find this book was when I was smaller I have a book that was VERY similar to this. It was gigantic and yellow. I was trying to find it and came upon this. I think that this book was good. It gave me a great idea for a name in the book. It tends to drag on the Knock Knock part until your groaning like NO MORE PLEASE! I really didn't think it would take so long to read this, but I was so wrong! Some of the jokes were good. Some were corny. Some were hard to understand even on a few reads. Some of the jokes when the page ended didn't give the answer. Wasn't crazy about the math thrown in, which has never been my best subject. Then if you're reading a book just for enjoyment and you aren't an academic whiz then you really don't want to be reminded of school. Which is what solving problems feels like. (Groaning) I didn't choose this as a read to have to think. But then the title does say brain teasers. I read those and kept going. There was some good information about the brain and how it functions and some helpful related words to jokes and riddles. I skipped through the ones that had to be worked out that had to do with pictures and figuring out where certain letters went and solving riddles by doing those. Those kinds were put in between jokes and fun facts and guess who I am's.
Rating 7: This book took me on a trip down memory lane. While it would be nice to luck up and find the book I once had when I was a kid, this was a nice substitute. Mine didn't have the brain teasers and pictograms and stuck to just the jokes and riddles but this was definitely a fun, easy, kind of read.
