The Aussie jingle bells is one of the best-loved songs in Australia. The lyrics are witty, funny and very Aussie in its truest sense. Written by the Australian singer and song writer Colin Buchanan in 1992, the song is set to the best known, world-classic Christmas tune “Jingle Bells”.

Little-AJ loves the jaunty music tune of “Jingle Bells” since 3 months old. Hence it is not surprising that this book has now become little-AJ’s new favorite.

This is the perfect book to introduce the Australian culture and lifestyle: Christmas in perspiring hot summer time, classic Holden ute, Esky portable cooler, Kelpie the sheep dog, kangaroos, swaggie and barbecue.

This is a staple Christmas read in our house, it is refreshing to have an actual representation of Christmas in my half of the world, where it is not snowing.

Another song turned into a picture book, but this is the epic Australian version of Jingle Bells from Colin Buchanan - "In a rusty holden ute" Great stuff and way to go in making some real Aussie Christmas songs which don't involve snow and ice and all the things that we have naught to do with at this time of year.

I absolutely adored this book.

This amazing book brings to life the much-loved Australian Christmas carol and is perfect for both young and old.

With so few Christmas songs and stories set in Australia I was overjoyed to get my hands on this book, and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint.

Colin Buchanan has done a wonderful job in bringing this song to life, the layout of this book was truly brilliant.

This much-loved song was complimented perfectly by Nick Bland’s beautiful illustrations.

Nick Bland did an amazing job in capturing an Aussie Christmas, his illustrations were funny and quirky, just like my memories of Christmas.

I honestly don’t have a bad word to say about this book.

Aussie Jingle Bells by Colin Buchanan is a must have for all Australian households, and will be a staple on my Christmas reading list from now on.
