Reading a book so boring will have you go crazy, my book Pretty Ugly will have you excited, sad, eager, and inspired. The Genre of this book is Realistic Fiction. My opinion on this book is that I really enjoyed it. I was very determined and excited to read more. When Jamee's boyfriend broke up with her just because of what people were saying about her, I felt her pain because how can your first love ever do anything to you like that.

The novel Pretty Ugly is mainly about Jamee Willis a student at Bluford High School, who is struggling with friend, family, and school work issues. Her parents seem to not want to listen to her because they are so caught up in her older sister Darcy's college plans, and all this college talk is really irritating Jamee. At school her grades are falling apart because cheerleading tryouts are coming soon and Jamee wants to be a Bluford cheerleader, but she also needs to retake a math test she failed so th

Siblings can be the worst and best at times. In this case there are two sisters, one younger and one older. The older one is excellent at school, very good grades, one of the best students. On the other hand, the younger one isn't too good at school, she struggles. When she enters high school, everyone has expectations set for her because of how great her sister is. Jamee is tired of people judging her because of her sister. At home, all her parents talk about is her sister and how good she is d

So this is a little interesting read I found discarded in someone’s classroom library—it was a little used and abused but with a very interesting title and premise I thought would make a cute in-between read from some of the longer books on my imposing To-Be-Read list..Seriously I will have something to read for the rest of my life as I keep buying and “accumulating” more—I love a book challenge..

In this book Pretty Ugly this is Jamee's freshmen at Bluford High. Jamee is feeling good about this year and is coming into the year confidently. She didn't really know that when she was in the middle school she did things that gave her a bad reputation, like kissed a boy she did not know and went out with Bobby Wallace, a student that wasn't liked. Since her big sister went to this school, a lot of people know Jamee because of her sister Darcy. Darcy had a good reputation so everyone is expecti

This book is about a freshman in Bluford High School named Jamee. Living in the shadow of Darcy Wills, her sister (Junior) she has to find a way to be noticed and stop being associated with her sister, and the only way to do that is to join the cheerleading team (the one thing that Darcy cant compete with her in). Jamee joins with her friends and meets a new girl named Angel. Angel is a weak girl who everyone likes to pick on (your typical high school story). As the story goes on Jamee becomes f

I didnt really like how at the beginning they talked about cheerleading which seemed like went on for forever.I would have to say that I would of been like Jamee in this book. When it came to Angel and all. There is always rumors going around about someone in high school or someone getting picked on and someone needs to do something about it. In this book I can understand how Jamee could get tired of being compared all the time but I think she was out of line at the end of Ch. 6. As far as there

I thoroughly enjoyed Pretty Ugly, one of the books in the Bluford High series. From the first chapter, it took me back to the YA books I enjoyed reading when I was in middle and high school (titles like Sweet Valley Twins and High and the Taffy Sinclair and Fabulous Five series.) I still have a lot of those books and I do pull them out to nostalgically read from time to time. As a high school cheerleader myself, I connected with the anxiety of tryouts and the need to balance those extra curricul

Being a freshman in high school, having bad grades, and already having enemies, Jamee Wills gets into a lot of conflicts, from seeing Angel Mcallister getting bullied from Vanessa Perice, to her being a next target to get bullied by Vanessa, jamee fights a lot to get out of this conflict. I really enjoyed this book. It had many sad a gappy moments like Jamee and Angel making the cheer team and getting the upper hand and the end of the book to get Vanessa introuble for all the bad things shes done

Pretty Ugly is a book about a girl named Jamee Wills. As life isn't hard enough, she has to deal with mean girls. The book is written very well but at some points along the way, it was hard to picture some parts of the book. Other than that, the author Karyn continues the book perfectly. You are introduced to all of Jamee's problems. Algebra or family, you are able to feel the stress on Jamee's shoulders. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys drama.

I enjoyed this book. It was about this girl name Jamee and she was going through a lot at school and at home. At school she was freinds with the mean girl and who the mean girl was mean to. Then at home nobody cared about her. I reccomend this book to 7 and older you learn a lot if lessons by reading it.

I liked this book because it had a lot of suspense. The theme of this book is sometimes you have to sacrifice what you need. The author's Purpose is to entertain the reader because this never happened and this was not real. The authors point of view is first person because Jamme is explain her life in first person. The main characters are Jamme, Darcy, There mom and dad, vanessa, Angel.

Pretty ugly had a very interesting/odd plot throughout the book and hard to understand the reasoning behind the book. Jamee a freshman in high school is faced with many conflicts throughout the story, conflicts involving her teacher, parents, and bullies. Jamee struggles with bad grades and her family not paying attention to her feeling and her only way out of that is cheerleading. During James's tryouts for cheerleading, she finds people picking on a girl named angel and decides to stand up for

Jamie wills is the main character who always gets compared to her older sister who's an honor student. Jamie decides to do cheer leading for an after school activity. Jamie isn't very smart and she didn't pass her math quiz. Cheer leading was basically a distraction from all the pressure of her failing math quiz and living up to being an honor's student like her older sister. At cheer leading Jamie noticed a new girl who was very shy. Jamie walked into the hall way and seen the new girl Angel g
