This was unexpectedly good. Perry and hin men are on Arkon III and are planning to destroy the Robot regent. This proves to be rather difficult. Even with the help of the Teleporters.

In the end Rhodan sees no other solution than to blow up the entire planet with an Arkon bomb. (The way that Grautier was destroyed.) This is something that Atlan, who again is telling the story, does not like. Even if it were true that people would not get hurt (very unlikely) he is afraid that such a move would be disastrous for the empire. So he is thinking like an Arkonide, suddenly?

Now, given that Scheer has the reputation (well deserved) that it is always better to shoot first and think later, he comes up with a very pretty solution. Atlan just tells the regent that he is the rightful emperor, Gonozal VII, and that he, the regent, should obey him. That’s it. Very nice.

I am ignoring the unlikelihood for the moment. It is just a pleasure to see that Rhodan was wrong for once.
