contrary to my wife and common belief, i never actually read this book.

i was, however, a prominant member of the mailing list :d

i tried reaading it but i just can't make any sense out of it. i can't remember the names. i can't relate the stories. i think it's that dyslexia thingy or i'm just too lazy even to turn the pages.

i just use this book as a media to exploit my radical, yet nonetheless, average mind -as i would to goodreads- to make my lonely pathetic self seem a lot more interresting tha

i know some people who said this book is overrated but i honestly think that this one is dewi lestari's genius masterpiece! i'm not a woman of science - i'm more in the money game - but she had profoundly integrated science and philosophy into - what i think is - the greatest love story of our time.

Well,,I dont really like the words the writer chose. It was difficult to understand with lots of theories(it's good that this book is meant for higly educated people, but I prefer simple things where we can really communicate, no matter who and what education we have), and it really sounds like English words that were rammed to be Indonesians words, which again, so difficult to be understood.
However I like the way Diva thinks. It's really good to realize that freedom and happiness are inside eve

I started to fall in love with this book after my second reading. During my first reading, i was like being punched for not understanding almost everything written there. Guess I was young and stupid back then. Well I'm old and (still) stupid now anyway. But that's not the point :P

I love diva so much! Her character is awesome. Too bad Dee made her die in the second book (I hope she'll reincarnate later on hehe..)

My fave dialog is:
Ibu2: mbak diva cantik sekali..
Diva: memang bu.

Very nice story that beyond imagination. The concepts and ideas are very great. Such a good moment when you got "trance" while you read this book.

It's a love stories that for sure. A very wide meaning of love without boundaries, even the unusual. I said stories because it has some love stories that unbelievably connected to each other. Represent our own life which is always connected to other's life. one event cause another event.

Well, you'll surprised I bet. Especially open - minded ones.

My first novel I had to read for college, and this has to be the most fake deep/over the top book I've ever read. If I had to rate this book after reading the first half, I'd probably have given it two stars. It had interesting, flawed characters and an eccentric approach to the story. Then things just started getting too much and it was so apparent that the author was trying too hard, and I hated everything I was reading.

Supernova is about a gay couple who decide to write a book. They write a b

Supernova! I hope I won't be too excited to review this book that I mess up my review, hehehe.
The first of Supernova series (yup, Dee said that Supernova is intended from the very beginning to be series) within the subtitle of: Ksatria, Putri dan Bintang Jatuh. I have to say that this novel, for me, is one of the best Indonesian novels. It provides amazing plot as it tells the story from many people's point of view. In telling the story, it blurs the border between the reality and the story (sor

This book is a story inside a story... the first story is about a gay couple who tries to write a novel. and their novel is about lovers, which the woman has already got a husband but she fell in love with her respondent (she is a journalist). her respondent is a handsome executive...they fell in love badly and end up with some problems...
in this story the writer puts some poetry between stories, it makes the novel more and more romantic....
so, it's a must read novel...

Brilliant. Romantic. Groundbreaking.

She breaks down human experiences, emotions, and interactions, basically a love story, into mechanical quantum theory.

She also convinced me that physics, psychology, biology, all the science things are closely related to human life in terms of metaphysics, made it somewhat into a philosophical story.

That's what I thought at first before finished the story. but, actually, something more bizzare and spectacular lies inside this novel.

This book! Was so good! Please read it, you have to read it! And then please talk to me about it, either by a message or in person. Anyways I love this book and I will treasure it always.
This feels weird... writing a review in English when I’ve read the book in Bahasa Indonesia... This book has also been translated to English, Supernova: The Knight, The Princess, and the Falling Star (Supernova #1).

I have had this book sitting on my shelf for nearly 3 years and have to admit that I couldn’t quite remember the premise of the book when I started reading early this week. Noting the ‘top shelves’ on Goodreads included ‘fantasy’ and ‘science-fiction’, I expected something along that

Ok...what should I say about this book..

First of all, don't read it if you haven't found your true self, your principles, and your belief. That is why I put it in my brain-washer list, because by reading this book, it can change your point of view of everything in your life.

It was challenging to read this book, especially because I read it when I was still in high school. In one point, this book will make you dizzy, because it use high-level words. It take one truth that you believe, turn it ar

I have my own experience with this book. I read it first at 4th or 6th grade from my aunt's collection. This book left me intrigued, I think it's first novel I've ever read. Many years later, she's gone and died, and I found this book again from her room. I re-read it again before I lost the book again (it's the first edition cover). I kept thinking about this book and didn't realize the person who wrote this book is Dewi Lestari who sang Malaikat Juga Tahu. I found my way back to this book when ...more

Kadang-kadang yang kamu maksud cuma hal umum, tapi bahasamulah yang tidak umum.

Maybe, just maybe, I need to finish the series so that I understand how important are those unimportant stuffs/characters/terms/and so on. Actually it's not that hard to read, what took me so long to reach its final page was that once I put it down, I needed some warm-up again to get in touch with the story.

Alors, three stars. Not that I like it, but I just need to appreciate it to be more than just "okay", bcs in fac

only since according to the reviews out there this is a ground-breaking novel from a newcomer writer, I went reading the book.

...and it was a disappointment that I didnt find any of what the reviews saying.. It's no other but a writing in a typical love story in which its first pages contain some 'cool' footnotes to describe the have been cluelessly picked words.

Indonesian novel about 2 writers writing a novel. This novel is a meta novel; the novel they're making is this novel itself. The novel within this novel coincidentally tells the story about 2 other characters in this novel's world. (i.e. the novel within this novel tells the story about 2 characters. However, these two characters also coincidentally exist in the real-life world of this novel).

A successful man fell in love with a married woman. The usual problems then arise.

One word: regret. No, I’m not talking about the book—it’s beyond just great. Too great that even I, who’s basically not a fan of science fiction (although the book is not that sci-fi too), could fall for it and finish in 4 days!

I regret for the fact that I just happen to read it now. I worked with Mbak Dee for a video project last month, not discussing a single thing about her book because I hadn’t read it. And now here I am, mesmerized yet can do nothing, hoping that she could read this review
A mix between romance (fiction) and heaps of science. Intriguing plot with attractive way of story telling. It's a story within a story, something that I think is rare in Indonesian literature. I am impressed with the weight of scientific research that the writer must did when writing this novel. I was sometimes lost in the science parts. The main characters here, Ruben and Dimas, don't seem 'human' as they over-analyse things. Are there real people talking like that? I don't know. I feel like I ...more

I don't think I understood what this book was trying to do. There were some great passages, with lines that were inspirational, but mostly I was irritated with the characters, especially Ruben and Dhimas, who don't seem human at all in their reactions. They go from running out of patience to being amazed to blazingly happy in three sentences, which I feel makes their behaviour inexplicable. I feel like this book could have done so much more, and I wonder what has been lost in the translation, be ...more

This is a fictional story but really close to my heart. Every characters has their own background, strong points, weak points, which give me, as a reader, sense of familiarity. I read this book when I had some kind of crisis, but this book even though fictional, has a lot of thought-provoking narratives and dialogues. I even questioned my life, changed my point of view in life after reading this book carefully. Surely if I have a time, I'll read this book over and over again. So far Dee's works ...more
