Sebastian's ideal Christmas looks nothing like his picture-perfect childhood experiences, but neither should it be spent wandering the cold streets alone and homeless.

Cody has no time for the holidays if he wants to eat. He needs a new model for his next commission--and he needs him now.

Seb cant go home and Codys model took his pay and left. Both men are in dire straits,

I'm probably starting to sound like a stuck record by now...but...

I seem to keep finding or maybe I'm putting myself into the same situation. Honestly I think it's a bit of both, so I'm going to try and explain my situation, without being too wordy...

It's about the Christmas stories...I love Christmas, so of course it's safe to assume that I love Christmas stories of which I've read a few this year approximately 15 that were specifically labelled as being 'Christmas Stories' and a few more

This was a sweet Christmas confection with just the merest touch of danger. I would have loved to be able to spend more time with the MC's - always the sign of a good story.
I have enjoyed Jaime Samms stories before and because its still January, the holiday vibe is still rather strong. Thats why, I welcome the chance to read this one. Unfortunately, while I liked the set-up enough, the overall romance felt a little underdeveloped.

First of all, I thought there were too many references to Sebs ex who walked out on him. Apparently, he also had relationship with Cody, the artist. Seriously, this should be a story about Seb AND Cody, and I felt Terry was mentioned too

If theres one thing worse than going through hard times, its experiencing them alone and at Christmas.

The descriptions of what its like to live in Vancouver were spot on, and Im saying that as someone who once lived there! It was a lovely treat to get a taste of the culture of that city and province again, especially since this wasnt something I was expecting to find at all. I appreciated the fact that the author seemed to know that area so well and that she wrote from the perspective of a

Sebastian has left his home. Hes left with a boyfriend, who then dumps him and moves on. Hes on the other side of the country from his family, its Christmas and hes down to his last money. When he meets a guy, Cody, who knows his ex at a soup kitchen, hes suspicious even though the guy seems nice and gives him his address and details, just in case.

When Sebastians living conditions deteriorate to the point that he has no

Although this is a second edition, it was clear to me Model Christmas was one of the first stories released by Jaime Samms, I say this as a compliment, I read some of her titles and they were all so much better. Still this holiday story was a pleasure to read, maybe just a little too short to be better delivered, I dont know. What I do know there was a feeling of melancholy and defeat in some scenes I didnt like, choices made by Terry (a second character we actually didnt meet) and Cody that ...more

Shelves: gay, read-2019, holiday
Christmas is usually a time for family gatherings, and even though Sebastian has had plenty of those growing up, they were lacking the warmth he looks for in his ideal Christmas. Cody simply has no time to rest if he wants to eat starving artists do not get the luxury of time off. Both men have not had an easy time of it lately, and I was definitely hoping for a bit of Christmas magic to make this story end better than it started.

A short, sweet holiday romance with just enough angst to twang your heart.

With most of the hours in the day taken up by a part time job and the full time occupation of raising and schooling two kids, writing is somewhat of an indulgence, but it's the indulgences that keep us sane, right?
