This book is extremely valuable to all humans planning/wanting/expecting to be mom/dad currently or in the near future. Truly grateful to have found and read it!
If you're pregnant and want to know exactly what is going on in that belly of yours, pick this one!! It is factual, informative and totally like your go to doctor. You know what and why is exactly happening!!
This is much better than highly recommended "What to expect when you're expecting" or the recently overhyped "Expecting better". Covers all topics from pre to post. Glad my obgyn recommended us this.
I had heard raving reviews about this book when I was pregnant with my first-born. It was the first book that would pop out of people’s mouth when discussing books on pregnancy. Post reading the book, I feel it is a go-to for an expecting parent. It is a powerhouse of information from pre-conception to postpartum period. One can find answers to all their questions relating to science, tradition, culture and even old-wives tales :) I am sure if you are not a first-time parent you can vouch for its practicality too.
A parent-to-be should definitely read it and parents who have welcomed the good news again can read it to brush up their knowledge about what’s to pop out!
Amidst the many pregnancy books available in the market, I found this book extremely useful and unique. I have read quite a few books which give scientific information about pregnancy and childbirth but are too mechanical. This book offers a good blend of scientific as well as practical information right from pre conception checklist to post partum period. I loved the author's approach of including an entire chapter on father's role and sprinkling advise for men throughout the book. If you want to read one book that will cover most of your pregnancy related queries I highly reccomend this one for both men and women.
This book explains everything in detail on pregnancy, I learnt so much about each trimester. Also deals in detail about induction, augmentation and coping techniques during labour, which not a lot of doctors explain to their patients in india. Since this book is written by a gynaec from India, she tells a lot of “old wives tale” that every pregnant woman hears.. this book also talks about postpartum recovery and breastfeeding which are equally important. I’d definitely recommend this to every woman who’s currently pregnant or is planning to.
Exceptional learning book for first time parents!! It has almost all the answers for first time worried parents. One of the most amazing things about this book is that the author has added a how to go about the book at the beginning because some of the detailed information may be overwhelming for a mother. You can then easily read what you actually want information about and skip the parts that you want to avoid.
This book provides a uniquely Indian perspective on pregnancy, which makes it very readable. It's arrangement of content is comfortable and well thought out. In the age of Internet parenting, this stands out as a one stop repository for most questions. Some content is repeated and redundant which feels a little too emphasised but a useful read none the less.
The book helped us understand week on week developments, labour issues apart from how to take care of a pregnant woman.
I would highly recommend everyone planning a child to read this book, it will keep you calm and composed throughout the adventurous and unique journey of pregnancy.
Extremely detailed and helpful handbook. Chapters can be read in sequence, or one can search for a topic and read just that (making it super convenient).
