I love coffee! While this book was enjoyable and interesting, presenting both some of coffee's history and production, it was painfully American (as in U.S citizen, and I will be the first to admit that I am a U.S. citizen.) Published in 1993, with a beautiful, if somewhat dated, layout, it was entertaining and factual. And while the book tried to present a worldwide view of coffee and coffee traditions, it did so in a manner tinged with mocking of the different styles and settings it presented. I still found the book enjoyable, maybe more so because of the somewhat sarcastic undertone.
