I enjoyed this glimpse of what life was like living on a farm in the 1930s. I too grew up on a farm in rural Canada and although it was not during the same time I could still attach a family, friend, or neighbor's name to many of the characters and situations in this book. The book demonstrates how even though years come and go and circumstances change many times there is a common thread that weaves its way through the lives of those who grew up in large families.
