Just an okay easy read. I finished the first 2 books in this series and am getting more disappointed as the series continues.
I don't think enough attention is given to any of the characters aside from Lois. So if someone gets married, moves away, dies...etc...there isn't a real emotional attachment to any of them. It's nice to read about the comings and goings of Lois and the town of Green, but there are too many characters introduced, a lot of things happening with them, but not a lot of depth.

Lois finally has her life - personal and at The Green News-Item under control. She is getting married to a wonderful man, Chris, and despite his odd collection in catfish items which come in every material known to man, she is touched when he gives his home away to a needy Mexican family. Things are coming together so nicely, she's even starting to get along with the puppy that Eva, the town mayor, gave her as an early wedding gift.
But it wouldn't be Green if the wedding came and went without a hitch. A major tornado strikes right after the vows are said between Lois and Chris; whipping the town like a smoothie and randomly destroying the homes in it's path. Many are left without homes, and the ones with anything left try to help those in need. With Chris having just given his home away, and Lois still trying to get back to her little place on Route 2, will the newlyweds have anything left? Or are they now one of the many homeless people in the town of Green Louisiana?
So many times an author will try to depict a disaster, or dire crisis and it can fall flat. But somehow Christie manages to make the most unbelievable fate fall upon her characters and it is so realistic and genuine you actually believe a series of unfortunate events can fall upon this one girl we love so much. The Green Series has done nothing but entertain and humor me from it's first words - give Green a chance and you too can taste from it's wonders.

Book #3 in the series. I have read them all within a week. Fun and easy read. This one is about Lois and Chris (her husband) and what happens when a tornado whips thru their town. Read this in a day! Loved it. Vey uplifting story about how friends pull together during a crisis.

March 25, 2020After reading about half of the book, I realized I was simply not vested in either the story or the characters. A bit choppy and too little character-focus for me to enjoy any of them enough to continue reading.
I will have to put the "Green" books on a back burner...way back.

Wow! Another Green Spectacular!
Lois Barker has found herself knee-deep in the Green drama, and watching it all unfold had me laughing and biting my nails and on the verge of tears. I loved it! I think I am ready to Rally now!

This was the best one of the series so far. Lois and Chris celebrate their wedding day which includes a natural disaster striking Green. Usually events like this either bring the town together or more than literally tear it apart.

In this 3rd book in The Green series, a tornado hits Green. The people of Green suffer tragedies, but also find some happiness. A light, easy read for fans of Christian fiction.

Just like in Christie's first two books, the expected, "well-orchestrated wedding of Lois & Chris" is blown into oblivion by the tornado which passes over Green just after the vows are completed. What comes next is not the reception they expected. As a person who lost lodgings and belongs in a typhoon, I know when serious difficulties happen; they affect people in many ways. We see the reactions from the various characters.
Houses are destroyed and people are broken. We see broken people grapple with the rebuilding of their lives and the rebuilding of Green community. Christie helps the reader to feel the push-and-pull on the citizens of Green. The community at first is just frozen in hurt, but slowly under the direction of Mayor Eva and Lois the community meets the challenges of a destroyed community. Many of the characters also see growth, such as Iris with her cancer treatment; Molly and Katy with the challenge of educational choices, cherished animals hurt, and death of family members.
This isn't a feel good book where everything is going nicely every minute, but a book that reminds us that we cannot control everything in our lives, we need to rest in the Lord, ask him for help and guidance, and love your neighbor as yourself. Wonderful book

When Lois's new hometown of Green, Louisiana is hit by a devastating tornado Chris and Lois must postpone their honeymoon in order to help out their beloved town. Many families and businesses have been uprooted. As the owner of the only paper in town, Lois and her crew must help keep people informed. The reader is able to truly see "the glory of Green" as neighbor helps neighbor and as the town of Green slowly builds itself back up.
I really enjoyed The Glory of Green. Yes, the tornado was devastating, but seeing how the town comes out to help each other is a great reminder to all of us to love our neighbors. Lois and Chris are perfect examples of people who put their own needs second to those who had greater needs. I'm like Lois in that I'm a bit skeptical about Dub's sudden change of heart, but it seems that he has become a more caring person. He has a lot to make up for all of the trouble he caused her while Chuck was alive! I love all of the characters and am looking forward to the next book in the Gone to Green series!

In the beginning of this book, Chris and Lois are getting married. She's concerned about whether or not she will like her wedding dress. A citizen of Green insisted on making it for her. Lois was pleased beyond measure how beautiful the dress turned out. Just as Pastor Jean delcared them husband and wife, a tornado hit the small Louisanna town, including the church where the wedding was taking place. The Groom goes one direction to assess the damage done to the town while the Bride rushes off to the newspaper she owns to do what she does best~~reporting news as it happens. The ups and downs, joys and saddness that come with such a disaster is shared with the reader. You feel as if you are in the center of the devastaiton, and you wish there was some way to help. Six months later, the town is still trying to put itself back together, and Chris and Lois decide to have the reception that was so rudely interrupted by Mother Nature. The whole town turns out for the much awaited party. The surprise ending will take your breath away. (Pun intended)

Lois and Chris are looking forward to the rest of their lives. A beautiful wedding with loved ones and close friends at Grace Community. Everything is perfect just like they have dreamed about, but when tragedy strikes everyone has to pull together like never before. The ITEM has to bring the town the news and Lois is pulled in all directions. But even in the wake of disaster love grows stronger and hope can be found in this quaint town of Green. I found myself drawn to this story and could relate to the characters just like they were old friends, their lives became mine and I found myself not wanting this story to end. An excellent 3rd novel in the series but however it stands on its own as a single novel. A very enjoyable read indeed! Thanks to Abingdon Press for providing this ARC copy for me for my review.

Book 3 was just as good as the first 2 in the Green Series. It is Lois and Chris's wedding day things are going well and as planned so far. The wedding takes place and it is time for the reception when something awful happens that no bride ever wants to see. Through this tragedy good things and some bad things start to take place.
What I liked most is like small towns, the community comes together to help everyone. You see the love and care for others. You actually see some of the not so nice make miracles come together to happen for some of the people in need.
The best part about this series is the way the author makes you feel right at home when reading. I adore this series and hope there will be more.

Well, I thought this was the last book in the series, but I see there is one more listed on Goodreads. I'm pleased because I'm enjoying reading these little novels. Without including spoilers, let me say that in this segment of the story of Lois in Green, Louisiana, the reader expects the fulfullment of the "romance" part of the series, and the book does, indeed, open with the wedding of Lois and Chris. From that moment on, though, things take several unexpected turns. I thought this book was a little more realistic about the nature of small towns, which are not always kind places, and which have many of the same problems as urban areas, than the earlier two books. Now to see if I can find a Nook copy of book 4! Edited to add that I notice there are 5 books. Goody!

Experiencing something that you've never expected, only leave you to do one thing: TRUST GOD. Any woman who desires to get married, would never in a million years planned it around a storm. But on what Lois Baker Craig considered to be a great day for a wedding, turned out to be a disaster filled with lives been lost, homes destroyed and a town who enjoyed their lives just the way things were for years, have now become a place where everyone is trying to figure out, what do we do now that we no longer have some of the people, places and things we once hold dear to us. We are never prepared for the unexpected, but our characters will either make us or brake us, depending on how we handle the aftermath of a storm. I love Book #3. Lots of great insights.

Sometimes book 3 in a three book series is disappointing, as if the author ran out of story but had to fulfill their contract. Such is not the case with The Glory of Green. The life and times of Lois Barker continue in Green, Louisiana with almost the entire cast of characters, that is everyone who survived book 2. There are new things to celebrate, new things that sadden and many things that will make you laugh as the story of this committed newswoman and how she changes a town as much as they change her draws to a conclusion. I look forward to the next set of books from author Judy Pace Christie.

Book #3 in the Green Series, this one was as enjoyable for me as the first book. (The second one missed the mark in my estimation). However, I did find the story line in this book a little familiar. It appeared that Christie got her inspiration from the Greensburg, Kansas tornado of 2007, which blew away nearly the entire town; they later decided to rebuild using green and sustainable methods. "How green with Green be?" was a question that was raised in this book about rebuilding. Art definitely imitating life. If I stopped reading the series here, I would be satisfied - Lois got her guy and life is good.

Best of the three so far. Lois is getting married, and on the day of her wedding a storm hits Green. Rather than a honeymoon, she gets huge news coverage – scooping the big boys. Well-written. Keeps the reader engaged. The characters seem like real people. One complaint, Christie needs to remind people who the characters are. She needs to give some back story for someone who might pick the series up in the middle. Something that Sue Grafton or Dana Stabenow do very well.

This novel had some good parts, and was better than Book 2, but overall was disappointing. It started with a bang then whimpered the rest of the way through. Just one long, "rah, rah, isn't Lois great." No. In fact at times she stupidly overlooks the obvious for so long that I am gritting my teeth and wanting to scream at her. Yeah, she's so brilliant that she moves into a former meth lab without getting it decontaminated.
