Tells the story of Paul Revere's ride to Lexington in April 1775 to warn colonists in Massachusetts of approaching British troops. Written in graphic-novel format.
So who's the target audience? I'm fairly familiar with this historic episode, but in a couple of places I lost track of what was happening. Too many names and assorted details. No map showing relative locations of Boston, Lexington, and Concord. Art has too many men's faces which makes it difficult to identify the lead characters.
Well done first book on Paul Revere. Children will get a brief (but inclusive) description of the the whys and wherefores of Paul Revere's heroic act. So often we forget people who played a part in history; they are overshadowed by more famous individuals. But one could argue that it is the acts of brave men and women who have shaped our society today - be they known or unknown.
