The Pete Hawthorn Novels #2
Dead Pedal: A Formula One Thriller
The glamorous world of international motor racing sets the stage for this Pete Hawhorn thriller. Two members of an exclusive racing society have become victims of a mysterious killer. Were their deaths related to racing, or was it their wartime involvement with the anti-Nazi resistance? The answer lies somewhere along the tortous 1000 miles route of Italy's Mille Miglia.

My only complaint is that it is the last in the series.

Dramatic improvement over the first book in the series! The only criticism I have for this series is that the protagonist is really kind of just showing up to see things happen, he isn't especially effectual as a detective or a racer. So in many ways it feels like we are along for the ride. I'm curious what will happen in book 3.

Good action, and a fun read. As a motorsports fan, and a fan or mysteries, the combination works well for me. Not the best book ever, but a pretty good page turner.
