I've done all of the avalanche-free routes in this book in the Indian Peaks and around Nederland. Great routes for a novice snowshoer carrying a 25 pound baby backpack. Avoid Brainard Lake on weekends - too crowded, even on a weekday - but the rest are reasonably well-marked trails with low traffic.
