I bought this book to get a list of the highest dividend paying stocks, but it has no such list (it tells you to find them yourself); however, it has everything you want to know about how to evaluate the balance sheet of a company stock before buying it. The book is on the dry side since it reads like an accounting book, but it has all kinds of calculations to assess the financial health of the company. If you don’t have the desire or the time to do so many calculations, you may still want to read this book since it has some valuable information about investing in general, and I highly recommend Index Investing for Dummies by Russell Wild. On the other hand, if you have the time, energy, and the time, you may be pleasantly surprised by the content.
Good introduction to Dividend investing. Gives an overview of how to analyze stocks and understand the pitfalls of not doing your due diligence. Dives into various dividend industries (utilities, telecommunications, energy etc.). Overall, a good overview for someone wanting to understand a little bit more about dividends and how investing in them can benefit you in the long run.
Best book about dividends so far. Unfortunately nothing about BDC's since they are popular as high yielding stocks. The chapter on REITS was excellent. For more about these kind of stocks you should read "the Intelligent REIT Investor".
