This book details an experiment done in Italy a long time ago (1980's or earlier...I cant remember right now). If I recall correctly, 2 people went into confessionals in many catholic churches in Italy and confessed fabricated sins of a sexual nature and then recorded the different responses that the priests had to each type of sin. If you hate the hypocrisy of the Roman Catholic Church you will cling to this book! If you are just interested in the theology and doctrine of the church and particularily the specific interpretations of it by different priests...I highly recoment this book. I really wish they would do this experiment again and write a book now in the year 2007. That would be even more fascinating to me!

Molto interessante, "esperimento" coraggioso, unico nel suo genere

Astenendomi da giudizi-commenti di qualsiasi tipo, ne consiglio vivamente la lettura per comprendere appieno come era vissuta quasi 50 anni fa, da un credente, la sessualità "fuori e dentro" il matrimonio.

("Registrate su nastro oltre 600 confessioni riguardanti i rapporti prematrimoniali ed extraconiugali, i giochi d'amore tra coniugi, l'autoeccitazione e il controllo delle nascite").

Confusione, paure, sensi di colpa, ...

Dal libro del 1973 è nato poi l'omonimo film documentario-inchiesta del 1974, con le musiche di E. Morricone.
