Oh, it's not really that bad, but with so many ABC picture books available, I just have to strike out against this one. I didn't like the pictures!
The drawings are a bold, exaggerated type that in some cases, don't look much like the thing they represent. My 3-year-old, who knows her alphabet and can properly identify "what K is for" (for example, not particularly picking on K) in other books, had some really wacky ideas of what was on these pages. Every person-representation she declared a queen, regardless that only one of them was on the Q page. Oddly, she immediately identified a drawing of a black-and-white patterned bottle as "milk". Our milk comes in translucent gallon jugs, and we don't live near any Holstein cows.
Very sturdy book with brilliant colors. Shows the upper and lower case of each letter followed by pictures that start with that letter. I am not a big fan of the pictures. They are done in a style that sometimes don't even look like the object they are describing. For a baby or toddler this can get really confusing.
4 year old Joshua's favorite thing about the book "the lamp and the king" 1 year old Jacob's favorite thing about this book "moon" (because that is one of the few words he can say) and the train (because he always loves trains!)
