Aleutian Echoes is the memoir of Charles C. Bradley, who served in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. While the action never quite reached this area, the threat from nearby Japan was real for the duration of the war. The soldiers did brave many hazards from the harsh climate and the treacherous maneuvers they performed in the mountainous terrain. One of the best aspects of this book were the full color pictures which the author had taken himself. If you're a fan of World War II or Alaska in general, I'd recommend this title.
