The Happy Day Book version I read of this is unfortunately held back by some stereotyping. The words "Big Filipino, wee Chinese" are found in the book.

Nevertheless, the traditional performances of "Jesus Loves Me" (The song) by Anna B. Warner depict a biblical view - that God doesn't look at outward appearance.

This book has a button you can press to sing along. We pressed the button like 100 times then gave up and read the book without the music. There are pictures of babies. It was fine, not that entertaining without the music, honestly.

Then I went down for a nap. Just as I closed my baby eyes -- you guessed it! The book finally played Jesus Loves Me. Like 100 times. Then Mom said some swear words and threw it on the floor. That part was entertaining.

Anna Bartlett Warner (August 31, 1827 – January 22, 1915) was an American writer, the author of several books, and of poems set to music as hymns and religious songs for children. She was born on Long Island and died in Highland Falls, New York.

The best known of the hymns is almost certainly "Jesus Loves Me, This I Know"; however some stanzas of this appear in modern hymnals rewritten by David Rut
