In Laurell K. Hamiltons Anita series, Anita starts out pretty self righteous, but a strong capable woman (so why shouldn't she be?) As the series go on, you get to watch her grow, and become a more open, understanding and less judgemental person. I love the books. I love the characters. I admit later in the series it does seem to become more wrapped around the sex and men in the books, but is understandable since with Anita's power growing because of all the ties to the "monsters" she gets new o
