an incredible read, I'll definitely look to to this as my absolute to most mechanical, electrical and even atomic devices depicting post world war 2 era. any serious engineer or inventor must have the incredible wealth of knowledge to be found in this book. j
after finishing I now know the ins and outs of 1000+ devices both simple and complex. I know this book is over 100,years but amazon may still have copy, and I recommend getting this before they run out! I inherited this book, and will keep it as a novel example of a great time on the technological achievements of a great time in human history.

Finished volume 1 of a 4 volume set. This is probably one of my favorite used book "finds" ever. This is a classic series that is always fun to have in your collection. I got the complete set of 4 matching hardcovers in "very good" condition for 4 bucks! Granted, much it the information is dated and some of the entries are a bit confusing (since brevity is paramount), but pretty cool stuff for a tech-head.
