Merry Kinkmas

Stocking Full of Coal

Rate this book
Justine Crenshaw is accident-prone. On purpose. It’s the bruises…she can’t live without them, without the pleasure and pain that closely bind her sexuality to her secret obsession. She chooses men who accept her fetish, who seek it out for their own dark designs, even if they don’t understand it. She accepts that. Justine doesn’t need them for anything but a little bruise pressure during down-and-dirty sex.

Then she meets Nathan, and her heart starts demanding more than her compulsions provide. She can’t hide her body from him forever, can’t keep him in the dark, literally. But no “normal” guy could possibly understand her multi-colored kink…could he? It might be time for Justine to shine a light on her fetish and find out.

Amanda Feral is not a happy homemaker. Nor is she typing away at a cubicle waiting for five o'clock to roll around. She lives in a flat in Paris, now, with a view of a grim boulevard full of society's rejects and their dark crimes. She's an observer of perversion and horror, the heartbreak of passion and interrupted longing. She spends her time in front of the window, jotting down various scenarios and tortures for her characters. One day she'll leave her favorite spot. Explore. Engage the tribe of heathens she longs to be a part of. She may be the inspiration for a certain series of books about a caustically funny and quite dead socialite. Then again, she might not.

Wow. Just… wow. This is my first Amanda Feral experience and I have to say that I have to read all her books now.
Justine Crenshaw is accident-prone. Wellll, at least to the outside person she appears to be accident-prone. What is really going on is a bit more complex that that. Justine feels compelled to bruise herself intentionally. You might be familiar with a phenomenon called “cutting” in which someone feels release or relief from the injury they inflict upon themselves. Amanda’s obsession with bruising to me felt along the same lines and I found her pathology fascinating!
This book was right the hell up my alley. You have a flawed oddball heroine who is fulfilling her own needs by bruising herself. Lately, BDSM for me is being beaten to death (oh! a pun!) in a lot of chicklit books, and this was such a fresh take on it! Justine feels the bruising makes her whole and the pleasure and pain of the “accidental bruising” have become a part of her sexuality. Enter a sexy man named Nathan who does not take off running when she entrusts him with her dirty secrets, and you have one hot little story on your hands! You will cringe. You will definitely squirm. You will find yourself empathizing with a character you never thought you would. You will probably wonder what the hell you just read when you are done… because you can’t describe why you enjoyed it so much at first. And then you can thank us for recommending it to you!

Justine, the heroine of Stocking Full of Coal, has an unusual kink: she gets off on being bruised. Naturally, she hides this kink from most men she meets... until she encounters one who seems like he might be both decent and understanding. Will she get her happy ever after?

I'm a fan of Mark Henry and his series featuring snarky, glamorous zombie socialite and author Amanda Feral, which is how I came to read "Amanda's" book, Stocking Full of Coal. Knowing what I know about Amanda, I was prepared for this book to be biting and funny. For the most part, however, it wasn't--instead, its tone is darkly erotic. I was surprised, but not in a bad way.

Stocking Full of Coal is an unapologetically dirty, kinky, and explicit read. Even though I don't share Justine's kink, the author at least made me understand it, and by the end, I was rooting for her to be understood by the hero. I would have liked more meat to the story and to know more about the hero, but if you're looking for a highly unusual erotic read and you've enjoyed Mark Henry's other books, Stocking Full of Coal could be just what you didn't know you were looking for.

I have not read or heard of this particular kink before, and while I can admire a truly magnificent bruise as much as the next person, I have to say that it has never turned me on. Consequently, I enjoyed getting a small insight into this particular quirk. I thought the book was very well written and I enjoyed reading it. For such a short story, the author was able to create well rounded characters that you want to see good things happen to. Well done indeed.

"It’s a base little tale of private kink and Christmas."

This one line describes Amanda Feral's Stocking Full of Coal perfectly. Except this is a total year around read. Masochists come in all sorts of flavors including those of the blue, purple and green variety. I'm not talking about skin color but bruises. In this Ellora's Cave debut by the zombilicious Amanda Feral, we're introduced to Justine Crenshaw, a self confessed "bruise slut". Ms. Feral gives readers a glimpse of world many would never see with this well written, witty, Wateresque erotic novella.

Recently read (like today) Amanda Feral's kinktastic little bruise slut tale & here's my second review.

With all the talk of 50 Shades of Whatever, it's refreshing to read a kinky tale that doesn't follow the same old, same old BDSM trope. There's no bondage, no discipline, or sadism in Amanda Feral's lovely little bruiseslut tale. Just a woman, ironically, named Justin who happens to be a little fonder of bruises than the world at large probably thinks she should be.

Extremely well written and dirtily delicious, we get a glimpse into the mind of a true bruise slut and what could be better than that? Why a bruise slut finding and falling in love of course. Amanda Feral did an excellent job of making this reading feel Justine's fear as she shared her true nature with Nathan. You read and read with bated breath and can only hope our little bruise slut gets her happily ever after.

Does she? Oh no, no, no! I'm not Spoil Sally! If you wanna find out you'll have to read it for yourself. But I will say this, Stocking Full Of Coal isn't just a Christmas tale. It's a year around treat.

Justine is not the typical star of a book, she is accident prone & not accidentally. Justine loves bruises, she can’t be happy without them. She only chooses men based on their acceptance to her fetish, even if they can’t quite understand what it does for her. When she meets Nathan, during a not so accident, accident…she may have met her match.

By now, you should all know I am a huge fan of anything that is a little off the beaten path. I like things that are different, things that buck the norm & make me go WHOA after I read them. Stocking Full of Coal seriously had me at a loss when I finished it. I stopped reading & I couldn’t pick up a single book for 3 days after I had read it! I honestly couldn’t pick up another book because nothing could compare to SFoC. NOTHING. With an Amanda Feral book you are guaranteed a few things:

1.It will be like NOTHING you’ve ever read
2.It will disturb you
3.It will make you laugh
This is why I love Amanda Feral’s writing so much, she makes me think & she makes me cringe, but most of all she makes me do a dirty laugh. Amanda is the Queen of Snark, trust me people. If you are like me & love the darker side of life, SFoC is for you..but you might get a little squirmy, I did…but it made me love it all the more! Amanda is brilliant in the dark humor & she makes Justine likable even with her differences, you can kinda sorta relate to her. Notice I said kinda

If you want something totally different to the erotica genre, pick up Stocking Full of Coal

Favorite Quote: “...did I deserve to be happy? My guess was yeah, I deserved it as much as the next jerk.”

Justine Crenshaw is purposely accident prone. That’s her kink. Bruises, hematomas, contusion's...all of it binds and enhances her sexual pleasure. She seeks out men who accepts her fetish and allow her the freedom to revile in the pain of the bruises during sex. But when she meets Nathan during an unaccidental accident, she realizes that she wants more then her bruises can provide. But can Nathan handle her multi colored fetish? It’s time for Justine to find out.

Stocking Full Of Coal is a wickedly dark and funny erotic holiday niblet that rips a seam in polite society and allows us to slip through to the seamy underbelly of one particular kinky fetish. Filled with Feral’s trademark snark-it’s a guaranteed laugh out loud while your cringing in disbelief. Having never heard of this particular kink, I alternated between shock and morbid fascination watching Justine navigate through her pain, pleasure, and reasoning behind it all.

Hot male hero, Nathan, combined with even hotter smex makes this a holiday stocking stuffer worth getting.
If your looking for something out of the norm of the usual happy warm & fuzzy holiday erotics, then I highly recommend Stocking Full Of Coal.

I give this a B.

This is far from my norm when it comes to reading. It was different, dark, kinky, twisted, and made me cringe more than once but the voice of the character kept me intrigued. I read this in one sitting simply because I couldn't put it down.
