This isn't one to read from front to back, but to dip into and extrapolate information that's pertinent to one's particular needs. I'd checked it out of the library and liked it so well that I plan on buying it so I can go back to it when I need to jump-start my good habits.

I'll admit, I didn't DO the plan over a 14-day period, like he suggests. I took one look at the suggested menu for the two weeks, and decided not to implement that part. I do, after all, consider my tastes in food to be quite wide and varied, but I do not like oatmeal for breakfast, and I can't stand grapefruits or bananas. (He does offer some substitute menu items, but I decided that to eat healthier, I need to eat more fresh fruits and veggies that I DO like, and I'll most likely get the same results.)
I liked the subjective and objective memory tests he provides at the start of the book--which you take before the 2-week trial period and then after, to measure your mind progress. Dr. Small has very well-founded advice which links a healthy body to a healthy mind. Exercising, eating right, and eliminating stress from your life is a multi-faceted benefit to your overall well-being. I knew that before I read the book; I just needed to be told again, I guess! I'm not implementing his program at this time because I'm currently working on my exercise and diet goals which I developed for myself before I started this book. (What got me jump-started on those goals was the book, This Year I Will... by M.J. Ryan. I recommend that one to anybody looking to change their eating/exercise/whatever habits for the better.)
I also liked the mental exercises he provides in the 2-week program, and have reminded myself to do similar brain-challenging (not brain-draining) exercises to keep my brain sharp. I love word puzzles, Sudoku challenges, and other mental teasers, and will make time every other day or so for those.
Overall, a good book, just can't fit it into my existing goal plan at this time. Maybe I'll look into it in the future.

ان معظمنا يشكو من النسيان مع التقدم فى العمر ولا احد يملك بالطبع القدرة على التصدى للتقدم بالعمر ومع ذلك تملك القدرة على الابطاء من عمليه التقدم بالعمر وتجنب مظاهر الشيخوخة التى ممكن ان تتعارض مع الاستمتاع بالحياة .
- اذا كان الشباب شباب الروح ،فان كلانا يستطيع استعادة شبابه فى 14 يوم فقط.!!!
هذا ما كتبه دكتور :جارى سمول gray small'sفى كتا به the memory prescription (الوصفة الطبية للذاكرة ).
فى الكتاب دا الدكتور gray بيعتمد على نظام رباعى للحفاظ على الذاكرة والشباب:-
1-الحد من الضغوط اليومية .
2-تناول غذاء صحى .
3-ممارسة تدريبات الذاكرة (النشاط الذهنى ).
4-الرياضة البدنية
الكتاب بيتناول خطة من 14 يوم بالتفصيل تصحى تعمل رياضة عاملة ازاى وتفطر ايه والتمارين الذهنية اللى تعملها وهكذا لحد اخر اليوم ..وهو كتاب مفيد بس ممل كعادة اى حاجة مفيدة .
من ضمن النصايح اللى بيقدمها وياكد عليها:
-الفطار .لازم نفطر يا جماعة .
-تناول 8 اكواب ماء يوميا وانك تخلى زجاجات الماء فى متناول ايدك طول اليوم .
-كمان النظام الغذائى اللى بيقدمة فى مجموعة من المكملات الغذائية زى اقراص الاوميجا وفيتامين e اقراص multi vit
بالنسبة بقى لمشكلة الضغط النفسي :
فالكاتب بيقلك امنع اى توتر فى حياتك يعنى لو بتتوتر لما توصل الشغل متاخر انزل من البيت بدرى شوية عشان تحافظ على هدوءك .لو حد مضايقك اجتنبه وهكذا
كمان فى مجموعة من تمارين الاسترخاء اللى بتساعد على تقليل التوتر .
تنشيط الذاكرة والتمارين الذهنية فا دى حلوة فى الكتاب عبارة عن شوية لعب لتشغل مخك مثلا :
اكتب اسمك بيدك اليسرى ...
تخيل علاقة منطقية تربط بين كل زوج من هذه الاشياء (الهاتف والبالوعة )وكدا ....
الرياضة اللى بيقدمها الكتاب رياضة خفيفة جدا من مشي لتمارين الاستطالة بسيطة وسهلة جدا ...

اتمنى اكون لخصت الكتاب كويس

Okay so I didn't finish this but I take too many books on. This was really fun and I wanted to finish and may go back and get it. I only did one of the exercises but I would like to do them all and see if there is a difference.
