"Some of the rhymes were pretty poor, and a lot of the pictures are lamer ones. Meh."

I Spy Spectacular A Book of Picture and Riddles by Jean Marzollo is a picture book with poetry for children aged 4 to 8 years old. A good book for those who like to just get lost in a scene. In I Spy Spectacular the reader is to read the short poems to learn what they should look for inside the photos. Each page is a beautiful photo filled with carefully placed objects all around the page, can you find them all? I always find these books a great way to watch readers follow the directions of the poems. The pictures are different on each page and the poems are simple to read and follow along with. I like to use this book with my kindergartner's small group games. We pick a page together and they look for each object on the pages. A fun and great way to explore early poetry and practice listening skills.
