Katie Finn grew up in Connecticut, in a town that looks an awful lot like Putnam. During high school, she was a total theater devotee (like Madison) and never dreamed she’d be a writer. But lots of Katie’s high school misadventures have made it into her books…which just goes to show that you never know!

She currently lives in Los Angeles, California, in a house she wishes was a lot closer to the beach.

Coming into this last book of a series, I really wanted to start the book yet truly sad to start it at the same time. I had become obsessed with this world and all of Madison's friends! Even though I knew she was going to be in yet another predicament to clear her name I didn't care because I knew whatever it was going to be I was going to love it! And I wasn't wrong.

The only thing that made me sad was not being able to dive more into Nate and Madison's relationship a bit more. **spoiler alert** With Madison being blackmailed to break up with her boyfriend Nate, you literally do not see Nate at all until the end of the book. This made me sad, because I really wanted to see more of their connection and I felt Katie Finn didn't give me that in the last two books. She also made then fall in love a bit too quickly in my opinion (3 months) and that made me a bit unnerved because their relationship should have been portrayed a bit more to be in love so quickly. Unfortunately this seems to be the last book, but overall I did enjoy the series and will defiantly add it to my favorites! <3

I really enjoy Morgan Matson's writing, generally, but this series just went downhill for me. The first book was...ok, but it didn't really impress, and then the two subsequent books just got worse and worse.
Another thing that drove me crazy was, again, the constant detail of how much Madison loved kissing Nate. We get it already. Move on.
I ended up skimming the middle 150 pages or so. There was so much detail that just wasn't needed and just repeated what had been said before.

It's summer and that means beach, sun, friends and Nate but that will have to go on hold because the wicked witch of the west has returned. Yes, Isabel is back for revenge... Again. But Isabel wants Madison to have the same hell she had after Madisons prom heist. Now Madison has to be friendless and boyfriendless or else all their lives will be ruined.

Madison is more likable in Unfriended than she was in Top 8 and I guess I could understand Madison's heist in Unfriended than in Whats Your Status. In Whats Your Status it got too crazy and confusing to follow along with what was going on. The beginning starts out slow but soon its starts to get way better when Isabel arrives.

Unfriended is the best book out of all the Top 8 novels and I'm hoping for another book!

Great book! By far the best and my faveourite in Katie Finn's 'Top 8' series so far. However I must amidt that at some of the parts I could see it comming; like Justin leaving his wallet behind & then suddnely dispearring, & even in the very begining when "Tricica" sent Mad a link that showed up as ERROR. I called it right away that that was what was messing up Mada laptop. Anyways, besides that I loved the plot. Maddison feelings were very well descirbed, I felt horrible for her after. Loved Nate, I hope they stay together while he's in college and Isabel gets what she deserves! Will there be another book?

Such great and trusting friendships portrayed in this series. I've really love reading another book series about a girl called Madison who loves computers, because Madison Finn was the best thing from six years ago!

It's summer time! 🌞 Madison has all of her best friends, her amazing boyfriend (even though he's leaving for college in the fall), and is looking forward to a fun-filled break.
Madison is happy, until an old nemesis returns to seek her revenge for "promgate." How will Madison get out of this mess...? 💻

The last book in the series and I enjoyed it! I remember this book made me so angry when I was younger (IYKYK). I felt so much sympathy for Madison as my heart slightly broke for her.

What I liked:
• The songs and quotes! (Obvi)
• The bond Madison has with her friends, some of us could only be so lucky to have the friends she has.
• Nate... I doubt in real life, many HS boys would stick around the way Nate did.
• Seeing the relationship between Madison and her brother Travis. Travis comes through in the end and shows he really loves his older sister.
• Rooting for the group to succeed.

What I didn't like:
• Isabel...
• Why wasn't Madison more suspicious (or careful) of strange emails with links being sent...especially after what happened in the spring.
• The timespan of the story. Again, this all feels like it happens within a FEW WEEKS. Believe it's a span of about a week/little over a week (I remembered this much differently as when I was younger 😅)

I really enjoyed this series; even re-reading it as an adult. I would definitely recommend!

I only read these books because I love Morgan Matson's books. Only 2 weeks and 2 days until The Unexpected Everything is out!

I thought this book had a little too much drama. Isn't there a way that Madison could have just reported Isabell and stayed safe. The whole plot of being blackmailed was a little too dramatic for teenagers. I didn't really like it.

It was an easy read. It was very fast paced. I read it all in one day, which was nice. There was never a dull moment, and it was funny as well. Like I said, the whole scheme was a little too intricate for me.

The writing style in this book was good as well. Morgan Matson kept the reader hooked and reading. It is a perfect summer read, like a book you would read on a beach.

I loved the aspect of friendship. Madison's friends were always there for her in the end. It was a nice surprise.

This book is cute and fun, but a little too dramatic. I give it 3.5 stars.

This is not a book I would have normally picked up, so I am grateful for the opportunity to dip my toes into some of the other young adult fiction. The reason I liked this book was for a few reasons; I think it accuratly portrays teenagers in high-schools obsession with technology.

It almost didn't seem real that every character in the book was connected on this 'Friend-verse'. I find it a bit unrealistic in that department as, not every teenager is going to have a phone with internet (I am 27 and I still haven't crossed that bridge) So in a way, it kind-of blew my mind. I appreciate the characters and the descriptions.

The author did a good job at catching me up to speed on what had happened in the books previous (although I did rent them from the library and read them)

Another thing to mention is the unique format with photos, profiles and conversations happening. I like the high-school aspect, I think it was captured with grace and perhaps that is what it is really like, although I am certainly glad I didn't have to deal with all of these things when I was in High School... it just makes things more complicated.

The book was a funny, breezy read.

The title of this book is Unfriended. This book is by Katie Finn and it's a realistic fiction book. It's about a 10th grade girl named Madison MacDonald who has a really good social life.

It's finally summer and Madison is going to 12th grade next year. Isabel Ryan is trying to get revenge on Madison for what she did to her during the prom night. So is Justin who is now paired up with Isabel. Justin was Madison ex-boyfriend and he got mad and thought that during the prom she was using him when she told him to go distract Isabel. Isabel is telling Mad to tell all her friends that she is not friends with them anymore and to break up with Nate because after the prom Isabel didn't have any friends or a date and that's why she told Mad that she had to do this or else she well tell the whole world all of her friends secrets and also about what Nate to Hartfield High School and that kind of thing on his records can get him kicked out of Yale.

I recommend this book to GIRLS who like reading books about friendship problems drama and stuff like that goes on high school. It's pretty interesting because in this book you will read about many girls lives in high school and how much social network affects them.

Unfriended by Katie Finn is the third book in the Top 8 series. It's summer and after a hectic year Madison is enjoying her summer by going to the beach, tanning in the sun, hanging out with friends and going on dates with Nate. Just when everything in Madison's life is going well, Isabel is back and wants revenge! She wants Madison to tell both her friends and her boyfriend bye, or all their lives will be ruined. I suggest that you check out the other books in this series before you start to read Unfriended or you will be lost.

My favorite character would have to be Madison especially since every book I find she grows more and more. For example in the first book Madison is a bit of gossip and learns that gossiping can hurt other without even realizing it, and in the second book she finds out that communication is a good thing to have and in the third she realizes she would do anything to protect her friends and Nate. The story was a great page turner and once I started it I couldn't stop reading.

If you enjoy a good chick lit with revenge, love and true friendships, then this is a good book for you.

In the novel Unfriended by Katie Finn is a teen drama book. It's the third book in the series of Top 8. Madison MacDonald has all the high school problems anyone can possible get. She has enemy's, old best friends, new best friend, boyfriend, ex boyfriend, blackmail, all of it. In the book Madison thinks its going to be a great summer and so she thinks there would be no drama but she was wrong. Just pool parties, beach, time for friends and her boyfriend Nate. She even gets a job. This is all fantastic until Madison encounters with and old friend, a new enemy Isabel. Isabel has just made Madison's summer horrible leaving her a mess when she shows up at Madison's job with some thing. What happened? How does it end? What did Isabel bring?

The book was fabulous. It makes the reader hang on with drama filled actions. It makes the reader not be able to put it down until the absolute last word was read. I do recommend this book to anyone.

I love this entire series to death, and this has been my favourite so far! The story was so exciting and I could not put this book down. I was up all night reading it and now it's 4:00 am! I love the relationships and friendships in this series because I feel like I actually know the characters and I care about them. The pacing is perfect— I never got bored whatsoever! My favourite part of each book in the series is when they go through with their crazy plans; it's so exciting to find out how everything turns out in the end! I understand this book isn't for everyone, but I am in love with it and if you like chick-lit then READ THIS! I will review the series soon on my YouTube channel: http://YouTube.com/nishathebee if you're interested :)

Let the record reflect that I LOVE THIS SERIES! It's cute and fun. And just perfect in general. <3
In the third (final?) book in the Top 8 series, Madison is blackmailed into having zero friends and no boyfriend. But her friends come through yet again and they plot the demise of the blackmailer. :)
Favorite quote (it sent me into laughter): "Did you really used to date him?" Peyton asked me, looking appalled." I realize this sounds lame, but it's funny with context.
Also, I loooove how Travis protects Madison....but maybe that's just the big sister in me. :)

Teenage drama, love, make out episodes, and friend problems, Unfriended is my favorite drama book of all! Madison McDonald is very clever in dealing with people and ex friends whom she used to trust. Boyfriends, ex boyfriends included. When a surprise enemy comes back and haunts she and her friends all, Madison has to ditch all of her friends because of blackmailed and solve this problem for herself. Her smart deeds, while harmful hurtled people, revealed her true nature to all of her friends and boyfriend.

I found this particular novel extremely boring. Honestly, I faced a challenge of my own - actually finishing the book. The plot was the basic 'girl faces challenges in high school', but the whole novel was centered on the previous book in the series. This made it extremely complicated to follow for a reader unfamiliar with the series - aka me. No explanations were given for references from the previous books, making it...

Almost as good as "Top 8" !!! I couldn't believe Isabel's revenge !! In the beginning when I saw how fishy Trisha was acting and how Madison remembered Isabel's friend list having a girl with a "B" in her friends list i automatically went to check the second book and looked over Isabel's Friendverse profile ! Of course Trisha was Isabel's friend Beatrice, never liked her ! Madison proved to have loyal friends and that prevailed.

This book started out kind of slow, but since it is the third book in the series I was looking forward to where it was going to be taken. I have to say I really liked the book but it was not as good as the first and second ones were, but it wasn't a total letdown. Still wondering if there will be another, but probably not. :)

I can honestly say this is one of my favourite trilogies of all time.

This is my favourite book of this series hands down. While I loved the other two I think I enjoyed the plot of this one the best (closely behind what's your status).

Read this before I had Goodreads but am writing quick reviews for the books I love before I joined.

Dear book,
You practically bored me to tears. I loved the first two books that came before you, but sadly you just didn't make the cut. Why must you go into extreme detail about how depressed and terrible Madison is feeling? We don't need to know what she ate and cried about today! Enough. I had high hopes for you book, I really did. I am no longer going to try and read you any longer. Farewell.

Finally finished this series!!!
Of course there's a happy ending. Isabel got what she deserves and Nate and Mad get back together.
In a way this series gives us great advice on how to be safe online and educates our naive teenage 21 century population on the dangers of the web. Of course we won't go on great heist and missions like mad and the 'crew' but we can dream right?

This is one of those books that I'm aware is not very good, but it's still very fun for me to read. The mean-girl-I'm-going-to-ruin-your-life part was way overdone in my opinion but the book is very enjoyable, hence the 3 stars.

What a dramatic life Madison lives. . . It still amazes me how complicated this book can be while still basically being a teen chick-lit!
